It is absolutely terrible to from jump. The West has apparently been innocently permeated by this idea by some unnamed specter! In truth the West has itself propagated this colonial imposition thru force. The fact that humans are not innately like this is “new” to only them.

This author is essentially saying “I’m realizing at my big big age that maybe we should stop founding our ideas about humanity’s alleged hierarchal individual competitiveness on a book written by a Nazi understander” and that’s worthy an article, apparently

He took A REAL LIFE occurance and compared it what happened in the fucking Lord of The Flies. That’s his piss poor framework. That’s it. He’s fucking 32 years old! Whoaaa!

The author didn’t contact and ask these men what their own lens of their experiences as children living off the land they were stranded on for 15 months after being marooned is. The word “Indigenous” appears not once in the whole piece.

Instead the article focuses on the white rich man who found them. Like yes as the person who rescued them he has a role in the story but....not like this? Like is his weak ass takeaway really the overarching theme or message here?

These kids came to traditional land and found ancestral foods their people grew, ancestral places where people lived, SET a broken leg...but we’re offered anything deeper about that. It’s not about them at all, you see!

In the one picture provided, the white man who found the boys gets named in the title but the boys themselves are just “His Crew” as they eventually came to work for him...?????????????
Their first names only are given just once.

Their names are Sione, Stephen, Kolo, David, Luke and Mano. I am trying to find more info on them but all I see is stuff on Mano since he maintained a relationship with the white man who found them and the white man wrote a book.
