We've discussed this misogynoir and double standards with BM victims and BF victims in our community for years. It's a taboo subject to discuss oppression within marginalized communities. #Blackwomenmatter

To confront misogynoir means some of us never wanted liberation. Some want the liberty and privilege to oppress Black women like everyone else.

What I have observed is that we do not see every Black female victim as our mothers, daughters and sisters. In fact, many blame Black female victims for their victimization. Folks all of a sudden need all the facts.

They'll justify blaming BW & BGs by saying she was fast, why was she outside, she should've chose better, shr must have said something, etc. Black female victims must be the perfect victim.

On the contrary when BMs are unjustly murdered by LEOs or anyone else, even those of questionable character (some were pedophiles, drug dealers and women abusers), people immediately moblize becuse they always say "this could've been my son."

One day I hope every Black life will truly matter. Until then, we must recognize our inconsistencies and deep seated misogynoir. I pray for all victims of injustice.
