the kang sinjae that is now in republic of korea was originally from kingdom of corea. this explains why he is familiar of the royal emblem when he saw it on maximus's saddle.

so why would she steal it? because she works for lee lim who in turn provides photos of her son, sinjae, from the other world.

In this scene, she is currently at the library that lee lim often visits.

there might also be a deeper reason why sinjae's mother is linked to lee lim.

lee lim must have planned this all out. he looked for a person he could attack and manipulate inside the palace so he could monitor lee gon's actions.
