A Mother’s Day Thread:
This is my son.
My only son. My only child
He is 17-years-old
He doesn’t have a record
Never been in trouble - Oh he got caught selling candy at school in the 2nd grade and you betta believe I dealt with that real quick!
Never been suspended from school
Hates drama
Pretty quiet kid
Laughs a lot
Honor roll student at a private Dallas school
On an academic scholarship About to enter his senior year
Active In his church youth group
Participated in track and football during high school
Keeps a messy room 😂
I’ve taught him to respect adults by saying “yes sir” or “no mam”
Not a perfect kid - he rolls eyes every now and then. Mutters under his breath.
Heard he cut up with the others boys on the football team in the locker room
He is not a bully.
I have taught him to love all people in the same way that Christ loves us.
He has seen me forgive others.
He had heard me pray over and over and over again for many.
He’s seen me cut up and act a fool too.
Although he has been sheltered in for over a month or 2 now I’m not just
Although he has been sheltered in for over a month or 2 now I’m not just concerned about his health when he leaves home. I’m concerned about his physical well being. Will he live? Or Will he be profiled? Will he be judged by the color of his skin?
Will he be judged because of his hairstyle? If he decides to jog up to the local 7-Eleven will he make it back home safe? Can he wear a hoodie or should he not wear hoodies? Mask? Or No mask? Is it ok for him to go out by himself or should he always go places with a friend?
What about when he goes off to college next year? Will there be other people on campus that look like him? Will he be treated like a human being? Like someone’s son? Will he be respected? Can he be himself?

I’m tired.
