Chinese releases of Nintendo games usually use completely different fonts, as Fontworks fonts don't support the characters needed for CN releases.

#AnimalCrossingNewHorizons Replaces Fontworks' Seurat with 华康圆体W9 (Simplified only), and RodinWanpaku with 华康新综艺体W9 (both)
华康新综艺体W9 is a Zongyiti font, which have a square, machined look. These fonts are widely used in China (🇹🇼+🇨🇳), but aren't as common in Japan. They are often used in advertisements, newspapers and signage.
Many Chinese players have remarked about how the dialogue font choice in the Chinese version is odd, as it is meant as a 'display' font, not a text font, and is not really suitable for normal reading at a small size.
