I beat myself up a decent amount over famous films I still haven’t seen, so I’m gonna do a 90 day 90 film challenge. here are all the films I’m gonna watch by random choice each day, so feel free to make fun of me for having never seen Blade Runner or The Shining.
day 1; Molly’s Game.

even with heavy hitters like Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, and Kevin Costner, not to mention Aaron Sorkin writing/directing, the movie straight up doesn’t fully know how to present itself. I know it could have been a much better movie. I’m feeling a light 6
day 2; Green Room (2016)

PATRICK STEWART AS A NEO NAZI. I feel like the A in A24 should stand for anxiety. while the plot had moments where it could have been told a bit more clearly, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I’m feelin a strong 8
day 3; Wonder Woman (2017)

when this came out, I ate an edible before seeing it and fell asleep in the theater. Wonder Woman is very much worth the hype tho. with that said, dragged on a bit much and could have been a bit shorter. still a fun film. feelin a solid 7
day 4; Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

beautiful film, powerful performances, and fantastic cowboy hats. going with a strong 9
day 5; How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

worth all the hype, and then some. a beautifully written and animated movie. goin with a perfect 10.
day 6; The Platform (2019)

this movie is straight bananas. really dope premise that left me wanting more, but also left me a little exhausted. feelin a solid 8.
day 7; Dog Day Afternoon (1975)

I feel like this would 100% be a comedy today, but maybe I just love when Al Pacino plays a crazy person. it’s very entertaining where it matters, but is also a bit too slow in the long haul of the film. feelin a light 8
day 8; Catch Me If You Can (2002)

it’s got that Spielberg aesthetic that I do genuinely love. but it’s just an interesting story carried by good actors on an okay screenplay, with a lukewarm end product. feeling a strong 6
day 9; Being John Malkovich (1999)

this one was....weird to say the least. when you think you know what everything means, you really don’t. I still enjoyed it and always appreciate the uniqueness of Spike Jonze. feelin a solid 7.
day 10; Room (2015)

this movie was ~so~ good. Brie Larson especially was spectacular. and I didn’t even know it was an A24 going into it. feelin a light 9
day 11; Rushmore (1998)

this is the first Wes Anderson movie I’ve ever seen, and I really liked it! still kinda trying to piece it all together, but it’s deserving of the cult movie status it has. feelin a strong 8
day 12; Seven Samurai (1954)

probably wouldn’t have put this on my list had I known it was 3 1/2 hours long, but damn did this movie slap. this was a big inspiration to George Lucas for Star Wars, and how evidently it reflects that made me like it all the more. feelin a solid 9
day 13; This Is Spinal Tap (1984)

this movie was just front to back hysterical. all comedies obviously should be, but the mockumentary aspect which was new at the time really just makes it a slapper of a movie. givin it a perfect 10.
day 14; Booksmart (2019)

while the script could have been a bit more fine tuned and figured out, this was still a funny and earnest coming of age movie fit for our generation. feeling a strong 7
day 15; The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

okay, I get the Wes Anderson hype now. this was just an immaculate film from beginning to end. cleverly written, beautifully shot, and a colorful cast where everyone fires on all cylinders. goin with a perfect 10
day 16; The Usual Suspects (1995)

I found this one to be okay, but not really worth the hype. it was spoiled for me way back when, so that probably had something to do with it. heist scenes were pretty fun tho. feelin a solid 6. but still, fuck Brian Singer and fuck Kevin Spacey
day 17; Schindler’s List (1993)

probably one of the greatest movies I never want to watch again. a beautifully infuriating movie. goin with a solid 9.
day 18; La Vita è bella/Life Is Beautiful (1997)

great, now I’m SAD. genuinely at a loss for words beyond how powerful this movie was. perfect 10.
day 19; The Shape of Water (2017)

while I wouldn’t have given it best picture, I was still impressed by this movie. Guillermo Del Toro’s distinctive look to it shines through all its inconsistencies. gonna go with a strong 7.
day 20; Steve Jobs (2015)

Steve has always been an idol of mine, but he was a very complicated man. this movie, and Fassbender especially, not only showcase that but also the changes he saw as a person. had some pacing issues, but still an effective biopic. feeling a light 8
I gotta say just one more thing. Michael Fassbender is one of my favorite actors and always brings a certain gravitas to his roles. he nailed portraying Jobs as a person, and even got his voice down. HOWEVER, it bugs me so much that he looks absolutely nothing like Steve Jobs
