just look at the difference of what we who were born pre-2000s were used to seeing on screen vs what girls of today see on screen.

the one thing in common in these pictures: they were all 16 at the time the picture was taken

compared to what WE were used to (there were still ridiculous expectations of how women of any age should look), at least the girls we grew up seeing on screen LOOKED their age. now it's like the media is obsessed with making young girls look much older than they actually are

it's just such a hindrance now for young girls' emotional growth that they're being manipulated by into looking and acting older than they actually are bc they end up making irresponsible decisions (like having sex at a very young age) just to live up to that expectation
