A beautiful bracelet for the day that's in it, little did @SuzyPowr know when she gifted it to me that it'd be the perfect gift for my future place at European Movement Ireland, where I've worked on all things Ireland and Europe for a year now

Today, Lá na hEorpa 2020, European solidarity is more important than ever as we face a pandemic in which Europe has suffered more than most. We didn't see it as we should have at first but that's changing, bit by bit.

The EU isn't perfect, there is always room for change and more of our voice to be heard, but Europe, to me is fundamentally about unity, solidarity & diversity; our EU membership has been transformative for women in Ireland; the EU continues to work to support LGBTQIA+ people

across Europe; the values of the EU fly in the face of the far-right hate we've seen on the rise, celebrating diversity in all ways. So however much we need to continue to work together to make "Europe" better for all, I think that today,70 years since the Schuman Declaration was

signed to bring us together after a terrible war and ensure it did not happen again, there is much to celebrate.
