I am a GP working in urgent care. Because hospital (here) and 111 triage thinks covid is only a possible diagnosis with a temp/cough, I have seen lots and lots of presumed covid over the last weeks. Which is fine by me, that’s my job.
I have been wearing the level 2 PPE (1/2)
But it does mean I, and colleagues like me, have seen a very wide range of symptoms and are therefore very well aware of the fact that until last week, NONE of these people were tested. At all.
My cognitive dissonance therefore over the stats and plans is extreme. (2/3)
It also means, many of the symptom trackers won’t let people enter symptoms if these two criteria not met.
Perhaps all of these people with weird symptoms didn’t have covid, but I would bet my house and children on the fact that they did.
This is a huge enormous mess (3/3)
It also means, that the myth of hot sites and cold sites feels like a complete waste of time. Anyone can have it in any place. The false divide is simply odd.
