Forced migration and inability to return home is a trauma that haunts generations.
Bhojpuri folk music is largely about this specific trauma. It's songs written and sung by wives of migrant labours lamenting about how the trains have betrayed them by taking away their husbands.
It's songs talking about how factories have shut down but my husband isn't home to me yet.
This crisis is centuries old and none of you have ever bothered to look because it's mostly documented in a language you don't like and today you tweet out BS hashtags to appropriate trauma
