The highlight of my week, everyone. https://twitter.com/johnwhaskell/status/1258506355830185984
So I just noticed the original tweet was deleted. It was a YouTube clip of a bunch of seals edited in a way that they sang Kiss From A Rose by Seal. 1/5
That original tweet was all of 40 measly seconds of joy. Nothing more than an elaborate pun, which put a smile to my face at the end of a very rough day, of which we have plenty nowadays. And now it's gone. 2/5
This is an insignificant example of the sort of corporate fingerwaving that is (among other things) slowly destroying the internet from the inside because of this misplaced idea that user generated content containing HINTS of copyrighted material, harms the source material. 3/5
Ask people who make a living making guitar instruction videos or cinematography discussion streams on YouTube or Twitch how they feel about their videos being demonetized and receiving copyright strikes because of this. 4/5
Anyway, it grinds my gears. I understand why copyright is necessary, but these claims are absurd. I will include the original video again at the bottom of this thread. If it's gone by the time you read this, you know what happened. 5/5
