It's fascinating and horrifying to see the amount of hate coming at the clubbers in Itaewon, but let's take a moment to remember all the others who have stopped taking proper precautions in the past couple of weeks. /1
The arseholes who are not wearing masks as they walk about crowded streets and the arseholes who are jogging and cycling without masks on small tracks close to pedestrians who are trying to be socially distant. /2
The arseholes who think not wearing a mask on a crowded subway train is absolutely fine and the arseholes who stand too close to you in queues at the supermarket or brush past you when they could just wait or second or two. /3
The arseholes who choose to sit next to your table at a restaurant when you’re doing your best to be socially distant and the arseholes who are going to restaurants, cafes and bars in the first place. /4
The arseholes who don’t provide proper soap and hot water in their bathrooms and the arseholes who don’t even bother to wash their hands properly after going to the loo. /5
The arseholes who are spreading misinformation on social media and the arseholes who are trying to shame/out/destroy the poor bastards who have got this horrible illness. /6
The self righteous arseholes who preach holier than thou, when we all know they probably touch their face far too frequently and don’t take proper precautions. /7
Let’s face it, we’re all arseholes. None of us are perfect and I’m pretty sure we have all slipped in one way or another especially as the numbers have come down in Korea. /8
Instead of demonizing, perhaps it’s time to be kind. Be angry at the circumstance and the numbers, but feel compassion for those who are affected. There’s no big bad here, no villain for us to blame, just a virus. /9
Be kind, be safe, be healthy. /10
Here endeth the arsehole.
