Between 1990 and 2016 I ran hundreds of programs to encourage Republicans to apply for and to vote by absentee ballot. The National, state and local parties spent millions on these programs that I helped implement. This includes recent attempts at "ballot harvesting".
Now, as states are increasing the availability of absentee ballots to voters, we are hearing cries of foul play and potential "voter fraud" from the President, down to the National, state and local party leadership. It has become clear to me that they are
only interested in making voting more accessible to THEIR voters and not to all Americans. There are very few people in California that have spent more time in County registrar offices during and after an election observing this process than I have and I have not come across
any instances of organized or individual "voter fraud" from absentee voting that has come close to affecting the outcome of an election. This hypocritical outcry is not about fraud, it's about limiting the access to voters that Republicans deem will not favor their candidates.
