I know the Blue Checks are all abuzz about Pence or some stupid crap, but there is a real story here in western Pennsylvania. Tom Wolf opened up all of the counties here except Beaver. 1/
Here's the map.
Things in Beaver must be really bad! And at first blush, it doesn't look great. Beaver has 479 cases for a population of about 165,000. That is one case for every 344 people.

Allegheny County has one case for every 838 people.

But let's look at little more closely...
Here's Beaver in relation to the rest of the Allegheny metro area. The dark blue spot is the city of Beaver. The rest of the county is basically the same as neighboring Butler and Lawrence counties.

But dig a little MORE closely ...
... and we find that THREE QUARTERS of these cases come from Bright Rehab.
And what is Brighton Rehab? Why ... it's a long-term care facility. Y'know, the very kinds that

(a) Are heavily regulated by the state department of health ... and ...
(b) Have been known hotspots since this thing broke in March.
Now, lest you think, "Well, Beaver is a wealthy, high tech area that is telecommuting, I'm sure they're fine." Allow me to disabuse you of that notion.
The only thing you might know about Beaver County is that it was the place where Mr. Belvedere lived.

It is a post-industrial county. Working class all the way. Median income of $53k and just about 23% of people with a college degree.
Basically, Wolf and the DoH failed to stop COVID19 from spreading through nursing homes throughout the state. The spread was especially bad in Beaver, and the Wolf's response has been to economically isolate a community that has a lot of problems already.
And by the way, Beaver used to be a staunchly Democratic county that has moved to the Republican party. People who live there are tired of getting overlooked by the governing and economic elites ... which is EXACTLY what happened to them today, once again.
And oh by the way, Wolf spent all week signaling that western PA would be opened up, then sandbagged the county government last night. https://twitter.com/NicoleFordTV/status/1258789236721029121
And oh by the way, the story isn't over. That's just the end of the first act.

The second act is going to be massive noncompliance that is implicitly endorsed by local government officials. https://twitter.com/NicoleFordTV/status/1258788566622179330
