A response to this thread and why Marcus Rashford is one of the best young talents in the world. https://twitter.com/ballrespect/status/1258777836896346113
"He's having an average season"
Marcus Rashford has 14 Goals and 5 assists in Premier League this season which is one of the best numbers itl.
That's excellent numbers considering he played in an injury riddled Manchester United team.
Furthermore if we especially look at his numbers when he hasn't played as a CF (his least favoured position), he has 1.05 G+A p90 in Pl
(0.78 without pens) and 1.217 G+A p90 in all comps (0.95 without pens).
These are world class numbers. Labelling it as average shows idiocy.
His overall stats compared to other forwards in the league (including the period when he played as a CF)
Coming to the most important point fans mention while discussing Rashford - 'PENALTIES'.
He has scored 5 pens in Pl this season (4 of which he won and he produced the through ball to Williams for the 5th one)
So, it's not like he is just scoring pens without doing anything.

This thread has the videos of him winning pens.
And scoring penalties isn't bad at all. It shows his strong mentality that he's the penalty taker of Manchester United at 22 and has scored pens in knockout tournaments as well (QF of UCL and in WC)
Now coming to the point that he has been average in past seasons.

18 yo Rashford in 15-16 - 0.74 G+A p90
19 yo Rashford in 16-17 - 0.32 G+A p90 (first season under Jose)
20 yo Rashford in 17-18 - 0.60 G+A p90
21 yo Rashford in 18-19 - 0.62 G+A p90
These are good numbers for a young player who was not a constant starter in a not so great United team. Many legends also didn't have "excellent numbers" when they started.
Also, he played a huge role in winning Europa league in 16/17 by scoring important goals in QF and SF.

19 year old Marcus Rashford with the Europa league title
"He is average for England as well"
Rashford has 12 G+A for England in 38 games.
0.6 G+A p90.
For context world class, Sterling has 24 G+A in 53 games.
0.58 G+A p90.

And all the England players rate him very highly proving yet again using stats without context doesn't mean much
Coming to the Mbappe comparisons, tho I do agree Mbappe is better but you have to take this in consideration that Mbappe plays in an easy league compared to Rashford and plays with wc players while Rashford had a manager that didn't develop him that well during his time at Utd
And some fans do tend to 'overrate' their players or compare them with top talents. This is done by fans of every club and you shouldn't use it as an excuse to fuel your Rashford agenda.
"His CL record is very poor"
Marcus Rashford is a young forward who has played in a not so great United team and still has 5 Cl goals in 11 starts.
Some legends like Ronaldinho and Eden Hazard also don't have great Cl records that doesn't mean they are bad players.
"Marcus Rashford is an average player who will end up at Barnsley"

I have already mentioned his excellent numbers this szn (under a manager that has shown faith in him).
Moreover if you look at his big game records (G+A against t6 teams) you will notice he's a big game player
Rashford has 22 G+A in all comps against t6 opponents since he has made his debut for United.
And he has more than 3 G+A against every team in top 6.

Excellent numbers for a U23 forward.
For context WC Aubameyang has 8 G+A for Arsenal and WC Raheem Sterling has same number of league goals against t6 opponents as Rashford despite playing 4 more seasons....
To sum things up, Marcus Rashford is an exciting and talented U23 fwd who has proved his doubters wrong after his development was stagnated under Jose Mourinho.
He is rated by many coaches and fellow footballers.
Keep sleeping on him and he will prove you wrong, 'yet again'.
