I headcanon that Bakugou hasn't once had FUN with his quirk. He sees it as a tool to win, nothing less.

That is until one day, he's done it. He's Number 2 and at this point he doesn't mind/care so much because Deku is Deku. He's All Might reincarnate. He's not topping that.

He accepted that a long time ago.

He's buzzing, sitting on top of a high rise, legs dangling off the edge. He needs to get home. So he tilts himself forward, tipping off the edge, and he's falling, allowing gravity to consume him, before he's whipping his hands below himself to
blast himself back up. The wind buffets his face as he hurtles upwards and for the very first time, Bakugou Katsuki is carefree. He notices how high he is and the beauty of the sunset and the pounding of his heart beat and he's falling again, this time whooping with joy.
As he flies between the skyscrapers towards home, people run to the windows and watch as Ground Zero laughs and explodes, travelling so fast he's almost a blur.

He's having so much fun, in fact, that he decides to take a detour.

He lands on her balcony, breathing hard.
The loud noise of his arrival has her pulling back the drapes to gawk at him with those huge, brown eyes. She looks bewildered. Slowly, she slides open the glass door.
"...Katsuki...are you-"
She stops when his hand is thrust at her.
"Take it, Cheeks."
"What-"
"Please."
He never says please. And his eyes are wild. A grin wider than she's ever seen is spread on his face.

So, nervously, she places her hand in his.

"It's not that I'm not pleased to see you, but-"

She doesn't get a chance to finish speaking because now she's screeching.
He's propelled them off of the balcony and they're flying horizontally across the street.
"Quirk!" is all he shouts but she's already on it because she fears for her life. He smirks, focuses, and sets off another explosion so they're catapulted up, up, up-
They don't stop going up.

Before she knows it, they're in the clouds.

And she's screaming.

So is he, but with joy.

When she decides they're high enough, she increases they're gravity just the right amount that they remain there, suspended above a golden blanket of clouds.
He cheers, pumping the air with one fist. She just tries to calm her breathing.
"Are you on drugs?" she hisses, hands fisting into his t-shirt because, shit, she's never been so high in her life. At least not without a plane.

"Fucking wow. Wow!" He's all teeth and laughter and
doesn't seem to share her fear.

She supposes she doesn't need to feel fear. Not in his arms. Not wrapped around Ground Zero. So she takes a long breath through her nostrils.

The setting sun bathes him in a deep orange and honestly, there's something so different about him.
She wonders what's changed.

"Hey," she murmurs, poking him in the cheek to get his attention. He tears his excitable gaze from the clouds and finds her eyes. His features soften.

So does Uraraka's heart.

"Hey," he replies gently.
"We're very high up." Uraraka glances down. "Any reason?"

"I'm freaking /pumped/!"

"I can tell!" She laughs then. Her hands cup his face and he looks at her again. "You seem so...happy? I'm glad. You've been working yourself to death recently."
A gust of wind has them spinning a little and they chuckle as they right themselves.
"I'm good, yeah. Real good, Cheeks." A thumb trails down her face. "Want dinner?"
"Are you cooking?"
A smile. "Yeah."
She nods. "Then always. Always yes to your dinners."
The word 'always' floats around in his blissed-out brain and he beams.
"Always is good. Maybe I could always cook you dinner."
She laughs. "You know I'd kill a man for that chance."
"You won't have to if I just ask you to move in with me."
A long pause passes.
"...You really are high."
"I am," he remarks, looking down. "And I also want you to come over for dinner tonight. And stay. Please."

It's his second 'please'.

How can she possibly say no? Not that she even wants to. Her smile grows as wide as his.
"I'd love to, Katsuki." Her nails rake through his hair and she pulls back his mask in the process. He blinks at her, red eyes warm as they always are for her. Only ever for her.

He kisses her as she returns their gravity little by little and they descend back down to Earth.
When they land softly on her balcony, she hurries in and collects what she'll need for an overnight stay.

They leave the same way they arrived: her wrapped tight around him and both grinning ear to ear. They launch off and leave Uraraka's apartment behind them.
Bakugou can't help but laugh in disbelief as they shoot across the city.

When they arrive and he finally tells her he made it to the Number 2 position, she kisses the breath out of him.

Oh, he's just been having the /best/ day.
