Alright lets give this a shot

Good Omens characters as minerals thread (get ready for some SCIENCE!) Note: these are minerals as they naturally occur. Most mineral pics on the web are polished/shaped and that's LAME were gonna do smth COOL
Let's start first with the easiest one
Crowley - OLIVINE (pic2). Forged from the highest magma temperatures, thrives better underground and is easily transformed to the snakeskin-like mineral SERPENTINE (pic3) when bothered by surface processes 😂
Aziraphale - PYRITE. Resilient, steadfast and constant both in shape and colour, nicknamed "Fool's gold" as it's commonly mistaken for the purest rarest gold, but this mineral is not at all what it looks like from the outside.
Adam - GARNET(pic2). Thrives in more tectonically chaotic environments than in stable ones. When subjected to extreme pressure, instead of crumbling, the surrounding minerals will be crushed and bent to accommodate it instead(pic3, viewed thru a microscope)
Anathema - ACTINOLITE. Ominous, splintery form, potentially dangerous (it commonly grows alongside asbestos minerals). Pretty to look at, but it's a pain in the ass that gave me a ton of splinters when I collect samples from fieldworks 😂
Newt - QUARTZ. Extremely common, easy to miss, but resilient very versatile when it needs to be. Comes in different forms (in pic: rock crystal, citrine, rose qtz, opal, smoky qtz, & amethyst) they are all just different colors of the same mineral
I haven't thought of ones for Shadwell and Madame Tracy yet. I'll sleep on it first and come back to this tomorrow
Do let me know what you think of these!

War - REALGAR. Used by Ancient Greeks for medicine known as 'Bull's Blood' until humans discovered it led to arsenic poisoning lol. This arsenic sulfide mineral has the apt chemical formula of AsS
Gabriel - GOLD. Famous, radiant, highly prized, but arguably overrated. Its malleability allows it to be molded easily. Also extremely dense.
Famine - HEMATITE. Found in some soils, is more abundant the more its surrounding rocks are worn down. Its sleek black appearance is a front--inside this Fe-rich mineral has the color of dried blood.
Shadwell - GASTROLITH. (rock, not a mineral) Used by other creatures to do all the dirty work of digesting bc they lack the guts to do it themselves. After the deed is done, gastroliths are made to pass undisturbed thru the rest of the animal's digestive tract
Beelzebub - CHROMITE. Formed from the same high temperature magma as olivine, this mineral is an important component to making stainless steel. We geologists able to distinguish this from other dark minerals by it's tar-like appearance
If you're enjoying this so far, pls know that mineralogy is a distinct branch of science not at all related to gemstones/mystical arts & requires deep foundation in applied physics, chemistry, engineering and understanding of natural earth's processes. Thanks! x
Pollution - GRAPHITE. Grows alongside coal seams, this carbon polymorph has been in great demand in modern times that humans have begun to manufacture them synthetically. Attractive and lustrous-it leaves a stain of dirt on your skin when touched

Can't believe I forgot to add this to Crowley's entry! Steven Universe fans may be more familiar with olivine's gemstone name: Peridot
I let my followers decided which GO character this one should be, and this was who they voted for 😂😂
