Crashing the economy and depriving people of work & an income is a method of control used by the owner class. They’ll use this as an opportunity to lower work safety standards & protections, pitting workers against each other who are desperate for income to survive.

They made it very clear that the reason they oppose rent & mortgage freezes and monthly assistance is because they’re scared of losing control over workers. They’d rather crash the economy, have massive unemployment & starve the working class into submission.
