The history of Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun [A THREAD]
(1) It all started in August 2016 when Justin Bieber posted a screenshot of his FaceTime with Kanye West and Scooter Braun and captioned it "Taylor swift what up" to show the world he's siding with Kanye in the phone call drama.
(2) This post of Justin Bieber was also a hint of Scooter Braun supporting Kanye West instead of Taylor Swift.
(3) In June 2019, Taylor Swift's former record label Big Machine Records sold her catalog to Scooter Braun. Braun made fun of the situation by re-posting an Instastory on his Instagram account. After that, fans decided not to stream her old songs anymore.
(4) About the situation, Swift said she knew her catalog would be sold but she didn't know whom it would be sold to. Scott Borchetta (CEO of Big Machine) sold Swift's catalog to Braun for $330M despite witnessing what she had to go through when Braun publicly bullied her.
(5) Until then, it was known by everyone how much the two loved and supported each other. However, Taylor Swift claimed he sold her work of 13+ years to a man who was responsible for her to take a break from music and hide from the public eye for a whole year.
(6) Swift is well-known by sharing almost everything she goes through with her fanbase, so she decided to let them know about the situation when the AMAs were just around the corner by posting this with the caption "Don't know what else to do". https://twitter.com/taylorswift13/status/1195123215657508867?s=20
(7) In her statement, she said she wanted to perform a medley of her old songs following her being named as Artist of the Decade by the AMAs. However, it was said that Borchetta and Braun didn't let her do the performance she has planned. She was brave enough to speak up.
(8) Both, Braun and Borchetta, denied the accusation and posted these statements respectively on their social media accounts. Later, Swift's fans found out that they were lying when they said "We are not legally allowed to stop her from performing those songs.".
(9) In November 2019, Swift opened the 47. AMAs with a medley of her old songs. She threw an obvious shade at Braun and Borchetta with her performance of The Man and her costume with the names of her previous albums on it.
(10) In April 2020, Taylor posted a statement on her Instagram stories. She basically said Braun was releasing an album of her live performances in her name, but without her permission. Swifties agreed not to stream or promote the album to protest his actions.
(11) The live album went on to sell only 33 units in its first week -thanks to Swifties. Scooter Braun, who only made a few dollars, once again failed to make money out of Taylor Swift. (The first time was when fans decided not to stream her old songs to protect Taylor's art.)
(12) In May 2020, Justin Bieber & Ariana Grande (Braun is their manager) released a song called "Stuck With U" and announced that the net profit would be donated to fight Covid-19. To earn more money from the song, Braun credited himself as a songwriter on the song.
(13) Previously, Big Machine Records had released new versions of each of her albums (to make more money). In May 2020, they deleted the original versions so that Taylor Swift would make less money and Scooter Braun could make more.
(14) Honorabble mention: Swift released a music video for her 4th single off of Lover, The Man. In one scene, (s)he can be seen urinating on a wall on which the titles of Swift’s albums are spray-painted, next to a missing poster sign that reads: “If found return to Taylor Swift”
(15) Clarification: Taylor Swift said she always wanted to buy her own catalog but Borchetta never let her to do so. All that she wants is to own her effort of 13+ years, her songs (she calls them her 'children') and her "diaries".
(16) Instead of feeding a greedy bully called Scooter Braun, you can stream Taylor Swift's 7th studio album called "Lover" which she completely OWNS.
(17) Scooter Braun was Kanye West's manager at the time when he released Famous music video, which Taylor calls "a revenge porn" because a wax figure of her naked body was used in the video. He has unfortunately bullied her nearly in every way possible to this date.
(18) SWIFTIES DID THAT! đŸ’đŸ»â€â™‚ïžđŸ
After thousands of Swifties using the hashtag #TaylorSwiftSpotify, Taylor Swift's albums are put back on her Spotify profile. (But Scooter Braun will still make money if you stream them. Stream LOVER which Taylor owns instead!)
(19) Also let's not forget when Scooter Braun and his team changed Taylor Swift's music video licences to "Karaoke Version" so that they can make more money from them. Credits to all Swifties who work better than FBI agents.
(20) Right after Taylor announced that she'd be releasing a new Christmas song called "Christmas Tree Farm", Scooter B. and his team started to upload all the songs from her 2007 holiday EP on YouTube to sabotage her. But she took 'em down faster than they could say 'sabotage'.
(21) SWIFTIES RULE THE WORLD! 🚹
After Swifties successfully got #TaylorSwiftSpotify trending, Spotify removed "Big Machine Radio Release Special" versions of her albums. Now, only original releases from Taylor herself are available. (Stream Lover instead.)

A lot of people are asking me what to do.

These 6 albums below are under BMLG, Scooter Braun makes profit from them. However, her 7th album #Lover is completely owned by Taylor herself. So, stream Lover until she re-records her older albums in October and earns them back. đŸ’đŸ»â€â™‚ïž
(22) Spotify acknowledged the situation by posting the tweet below as soon as the hashtag #TaylorSwiftSpotify got trending. https://twitter.com/spotify/status/1258782947013992448?s=21 https://twitter.com/spotify/status/1258782947013992448
