And so it begins. Putting in a new #irrigation system. Start of a lengthy and sporadically added to thread of potentially niche interest!
First of 7 wall plates fitted. Each will have a brass tap attached, and each of those a timer. This one will run a 16mm drip irrigation system around the front garden. Look mum, no hands!
Steady now, contain yourselves, a t joint and a tap wall plate, connected! This one will serve the side passageway and the containers therein. What will I do with all the long hours of watering handled for me *automatically*. No resident serfs involved.
Here is the plan, a grand name for it, that I have been following. Helped me figure out how many tees and elbows I needed, taps etc etc. I've finished the pipe run for the front and right side, the patio and left hand side are next, with several taps and joints along the way.
It may not be the end, nor is it the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning. Final connection in the 25m supply, this carries water to the greenhouse which will be very handy. Brass taps next, then I can check it all for leaks. #irrigation
First brass tap on. This one is for the front garden. #irrigation
I'm no irrigation expert, but I don't think it's meant to do this...
As the actress was heard to remark to the Bishop, the pipe was not pushed in far enough. Thanks to my brother in law for pointing out my rookie error, this one is now rock solid, dry as a bone. Now going around the other 30-odd joints in this set up to sort them too. #phew
I need to move some taps as shifting the pipes to fit properly has caused some tension, but for the most part I am leak free. I want to change the wall plates as they're poor quality. Still, been a while since I had a working tap in the greenhouse. Timers etc next. #irrigation
