The mistreatment of nu'est, a thread;
It all started in 2012 when nu'est made their debut with the title track 'face'
At first it all seemed to be fine since nu'est was already were already breaking records with face becoming the most viewed debut by a kpop group at the time, but surprise surprise @pledisnews hates nu'est
While they were promoting, they had to use public transport. They didn't have a manager driving them which could be very dangerous since any fan could've attacked them. Also keep in mind 4/5 members of nu'est were under 18 at the time
They also apparently didn't have a makeup artist or a stylist, which meant they had to do it by themselves
@pledisnews also wouldn't upload nu'est schedules ahead of time, which makes it hard to keep a loyal fanbase, especially for a rookie group
Due to very poor management, their album sales started to drop
So natural ly ofc @pledisnews being the dumpster fire of a company that they are, they decided to ship nu'est to china, completely disregarding their korean fanbase, to debut a sub unit called nu'est-M
Since they stayed there for many months, their korean fanbase shrunk
10 months later in 2014 nu'est came back with the title track 'good bye bye' and full length album 'Re:Birth'.
Unfortunately the song failed to chart at all and the album did very poorly due to the fact that they had been away from korea for almost a year and it having very little promo. This must've been very difficult for the boys since they were really passionate about it
Around this time their company @pledisnews was also going through financial troubles, so like the idiots they are, they decided to ship nu'est to japan
These are just allegations but it is suspected that nu'est was made to work in very poor conditions in Japan and that their staff treated them poorly
After a year and a half they finally made another korean comeback with the title track 'overcome' and album 'Q', which unfortunately again didn't do well bc they hadn't released or promoted anything in korea for a long time. This comeback also AGAIN had very minimal promo
Then again in 2016 they had another comeback with the title track 'Love paint' and album 'Canvas' which again did poorly bc @pledisnews does not know wtf "Promote nu'est" means
I can't even imagine how frustrating this all was and still is to nu'est, they deserve better.
In 2017 after a long time with fans hearing nothing from the boys or @pledisnews it was announced that nu'est would be competing in the show produce 101 EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD BEEN A GROUP FOR 5 YEARS ALREADY
All members except Aron (unfortunately) were able to participate in the competition
It was their last chance to make it. It still is so heartbreaking to watch clips of them saying how they were scared of disbandment and even their own fucking company lost faith in them
Minhyun from nu'est did make it to the final line up and promoted with wanna one for 1.5 years.
After this @pledisnews decided to revive nu'est as a sub unit called nu'est w, while minhyun was away
I would like to add that while they were in p101 you could honestly tell how stressed they were, but over time they did gain more popularity and the gp seemed to warm up to them
Nu'est W was fairly successful and you'd think that their company would treat them better BUT APPARENTLY NOT
I need to charge my phone so I'll continue soon
Ok I'll continue so:
At this point it was pretty apparently that @pledisnews only cares about money and that's why nu'est w had some promo even though it wasn't that much it was still a lot compared to their precious promo
After wanna one disbanded, minhyun returned to nu'est and soon after they came back with their title track 'bet bet' and album 'Happily ever after'. Again the promo wasn't much but bet bet still did relatively well
Then they came back again in october 2019 with the title track 'Love me' and album 'The table'. Again not a lot of promo bc @pledisnews do not know how to do their job BUT they still managed to get a grandslam
Now fastforward to 2020 as they're preparing for their comeback on May 11th (pls stream and buy if u can)
Now you'd think since nu'est are @pledisnews only group besides svt, their trainwreck of a company would promote them but no sweetie, apparently not
Variety shows want them on and have even sent emails to @pledisnews refuses to respond and accept the invitations LITERALLY WTF IS THE REASON
Nu'est have remained nothing but loyal to their company for so many goddamn years yet still get treated like trash, they deserve so much better
Anyways I might've missed some things and this is just the stuff we know about, god knows what other stuff has happened. But stan nu'est and stream 'the nocturne' out on May 11th
