#taekook au

Demon Jeongguk & Vampire Taehyung are forced to take care of a child together by a witch.

Now, the job would be fairly easier if they were on good term but they’re not.... since centuries.

If they’d get past the jabs & sneers, maybe they could find love, again.
They decide to meet at a park because that’s the only place they know that’s kid-friendly.

Jeongguk and Taehyung are the first ones to arrive. There’s barely any greeting between them, just a indignant huff on Jeongguk’s side and a snarl on Taehyung’s.
They sit on the opposite ends of the bench, far away from each other. Jeongguk’s aura is dark, threatening and challenging while Taehyung’s sitting there stiff, fangs elongating due to the threat. It’s quiet with an exception of a few growls and snarls exchanged here and there.
A few minutes later, the witch appears. Lee Jieun is as beautiful as they can remember, she’s wearing a red dress, her hair black and long—reaching her waist, her eyes sparkling & her lips painted red.

“If it isn’t my favourite boys in forever.” She drawls, walking closer.
Taehyung’s mouth curls into a frown, he bares his teeth and a growl almost escapes his lips when his eyes land on the boy walking beside her. He’s tiny, nothing compared to Taehyung’s towering form. He’s holding Jieun’s hand and walking close to her— as if he’s scared.
When his eyes land on Taehyung, he lets out a squeak and shuffles to hide behind Jieun. He wraps his arms around her leg before he peeks at them from behind her.

Jeongguk on the other hand is frozen on the spot. Taehyung can tell he’s trying to suppress his threatening aura.
Jieun just rolls her eyes before she looks at them, there’s a threatening edge to her gaze as she says, “Meet this little one, his name is Haru.” She says, softly urging the boy to step in the front.

There’s a moment of hesitation before Haru complies. He steps forward, “Hi.”
His voice is soft, small and shy. Taehyung feels his heart stutter in his chest. Jeongguk is no different, his eyes soften and his aura retracts as he stares at the boy.

They introduce themselves as well, trying to sound as kind as they can.

“I’m Taehyung.”

“I’m Jeongguk.”
Taehyung smiles, he looks a little constipated with lips pursed together because he doesn’t want to scare the kid away with his fangs.

Haru looks somewhere around 2 years, he’s extremely tiny.

“You have to stay with them for some time.” Jieun says, crouching down near the boy.
Jeongguk and Taehyung watch in horror as Haru’s bottom lip starts trembling before he starts tearing up, “No!” He whines, reaching out for Jieun.

Maybe, Taehyung thinks, maybe he won’t have to deal with this at all because Haru will refuse to stay with them at the first place.
Jeongguk seems to be having the same thoughts. But then, Jieun brings Haru closer and whispers something in his ear which wills his tears away, a grin appearing on his face, eyes bright as he says, “Really?”

Jieun nods and gives the boy a small smile, “I promise.”
“What the fuck?” Jeongguk growls and Haru flinches, shifting a little closer to Jieun.

Jieun’s eyes flash in warning while Taehyung reaches out to grip Jeongguk’s arm, “You’re scaring the boy.” He whispers, eyebrows furrowing.

Jeongguk slaps his hand away, “Shut up.”
Jieun ignores him and turns to look at Haru, “Whom do you like more?” She asks. Haru turns to look at Taehyung before reaching out for him, “Taetae!” He says.

And Taehyung turns into a mushy puddle as he takes Haru’s hand, “Hi!” He says, a small smile on his face.
Jeongguk snorts, “If he likes him more then why doesn’t Taehyung take care of him by himself? Why do I have to be dragged in this shit?”

Jieun takes a step closer to Jeongguk, she grabs his wrist, grip vice-like before she brings his hand forward.

“Shut up.” She seethes.
She drops a key in his hand as she continues, “You fucking owe me. You owe me good so better keep your mouth shut and be a good boy like Taehyung or else you’ll face the consequences.”

And with that, she waves at Haru who waves back at her before she turns around and leaves.
“So, the room on the left is mine, the room on the right is Haru’s and the room beside mine will be renovated to be my studio.” Jeongguk says.

Taehyung’s eyebrows furrow, “Then where am I gonna stay?” He asks.

“I don’t know dude, order a coffin from amazon or something...”
“Jesus Christ,” Jeongguk mutters, hand pressing over his chest to calm his racing heart before he looks back to Taehyung who’s sitting in the darkness, “You’re fucking weird already, please don’t do this.” He says.

In a blink of his eye, Taehyung stands in front of him.
His lips are curled into a scowl and his eyes are flashing red. Jeongguk’s eyebrows pinch together, hand reaching out to press against Taehyung’s chest before he pushes him back, “What the fuck is your problem?” He barks.

“You.” Taehyung replies, short and clipped.
“I don’t care about how you treat me but at-least try to be little kinder to Haru? Don’t make him sad, you asshole.”

And suddenly, Jeongguk’s aura thickens until it’s unbearable, Taehyung feels his insides churning, being squeezed due it the pressure in the air around him.
“Don’t piss me off.” Jeongguk seethes, warning laced in his tone. When Taehyung looks up at him, he notices that Jeongguk’s eyes are black, void & soul-less & Taehyung’s once again reminded of the fact that Jeongguk is a demon—a very powerful one, superior to all supernaturals.
Taehyung can’t even move a finger, he feels absolutely powerless.

Jeongguk steps closer and tilts his head, eyes narrowing before he reaches out to cup Taehyung’s jaw, grip tight but not bruising, “Mind your own business.” He whispers, black eyes staring into his red ones.
Jeongguk pries his mouth open, thumb slipping in. The pad of his thumb just barely grazes against the tip of his fang but it’s enough to prick his skin, “Put those away.” Jeongguk says.

Taehyung eyes narrow before they widen when he tastes blood.
A small droplet of blood trickles down Jeongguk’s thumb and almost unconsciously Taehyung laps on it with his tongue before he starts sucking, curling his lips around it.

Jeongguk’s eyes widen before he pulls away, expression slightly disgusted but mostly terrified, “What the-“
Jeongguk’s aura thins before retracting completely as he takes a step back.

Taehyung shrugs, “It’s blood.”

Jeongguk makes a face at him, “Piss off.” He says before walking into his room. He shuts the door behind him & leans his head against before taking a deep breath.
“What the fuck…that was oddly sexual.”

Then he shudders, shaking his head to clear his thoughts, “No. He’s just a mosquito. There’s no way—No.” He tells himself.

Taehyung on the other hand seems to be frozen on the spot, internally panicking “What did I just do…”

Jeongguk angrily storms in later that day and finds Taehyung sitting on the couch watching some random movie with Haru on his lap.

“What the hell, Taehyung?” Jeongguk barks, coming to stand in front of him.

Taehyung frowns, “What?”

Haru blinks, confused and startled.
“Your tweet under mine! Why the hell are you promoting yourself?” Jeongguk asks, eyebrows furrowing and lips curling into a scowl.

Taehyung rolls his eyes and shrugs, “I just thought a lot of demons might be following you so… anyway, none of your business. Move.”
Jeongguk stares at him ridiculously, “None of my business? That was my tweet.”

Taehyung sighs, “So? It’s just a tweet! Why are you acting like this?” He asks, arms unconsciously tightening around Haru who’s looking between the both of them in confusion.
“Why do you even want demons to message you anyway? Why?” Jeongguk asks, cocking his brow at him while he takes a step closer, “Got addicted to the taste of our blood? It’s not trash, is it?”

Taehyung grits his teeth, he hates how this is excatly what it’s about.

Bullseye.
“Why do you care?” Taehyung bites back when he has nothing else to say.

Jeongguk laughs, he runs a hand through his hair as he stares at Taehyung, “I don’t.”

There’s a moment of silence before Haru speaks up, “Gukkie cares but he doesn’t know why.”

Jeongguk freezes.

What?
Taehyung’s eyes widen when he turns to look at Haru, “What are you saying?” He asks the little boy.

Haru opens his mouth to reply but Jeongguk quickly interrupts him with a laugh, it’s strained “What even… he’s a kid. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.”

“You care! You care!”
“Fuck this shit.” Jeongguk says before he walks out of the room.

Taehyung turns to look at Haru who’s whining in his lap, tears gathered in the corners of his eyes because they don’t seem to believe him. Taehyung softly caresses his cheeks, “Darling, he said he doesn’t care.”
“But he also said he does afterwards.”

Taehyung sighs, he leans down to press a kiss on the boy’s forehead before telling him to go back to watching the movie.

He turns to look at Jeongguk’s room and wonders if what Haru said is true, he wonders if he somehow missed the words.
26
“Haru! Stop playing and let’s go to sleep!” Taehyung whisper-shouts as he chases Haru who’s running around in the house.

Taehyung sneaks a glance at Jeongguk who seems to have fallen asleep on the couch. He hopes Jeongguk doesn’t wake up due to all the noise.

“Taetae!”
Taehyung sighs when Haru squeals and starts jumping around, “Taetae! Catch me!” He says, little legs somehow running faster.

“Okay! Promise me you’ll go to bed after I catch you.” Taehyung asks and Haru immediately nods, “Promise!” He grins.

“Fine.”
And because Taehyung’s eyes are on Haru, he misses the way the carpet is slightly curled in & so his foot gets stuck there and he stumbles. With a yelp, he falls forward—right onto Jeongguk.

Thankfully, Jeongguk sleeps like a log bec he only he grunts softly but doesn’t wake up.
It’s not that he fell on Jeongguk, he’s more stunned that his lips are smack dab on Jeongguk’s.

Literally.

A shiver runs down his spine as he quickly pulls away. He gets dizzy and he squeezes his eyes shut before he jolts with shock.

What the fuck was that?
Jieun’s sitting on the swing when Taehyung arrives. She’s wearing a midnight blue dress that seems to be glowing in the darkness & Taehyung hates how it somehow complements her blue hair.

“Finally.” She says, rolling her eyes when she spots Taehyung, “Thought you stood me up.”
“I wouldn’t.” Taehyung replies, he seems to hesitate a little as he continues, “I was desperate.”

Jieun cocks her brow at him as he takes a seat on a swing beside her, “What’s wrong? I don’t understand why you need me if it isn’t about Jeongguk.”

Jeongguk.
“This is… technically about him.” Taehyung says, an embarrassed smile on his face. He hates how it feels like his life revolves around Jeongguk.

“I’m not surprised but please continue.” Jieun says, she intertwines her fingers on her lap as she stares at Taehyung, curiously.
“I saw something.”

Jieun stares, waiting for him to continue.

“I don’t know if it was a dream, an illusion or perhaps a memory but…” he trails off and Jieun’s lips curl into a frown. “What do you mean?”

“I saw us together, Jeongguk and me.”
Jieun’s eyes widen. She’s surprised but she’s not as confused as she should be as her eyebrows furrow, “When did you see that?” She asks.

“When I kissed him… accidentally.” Taehyung whispers.

Jieun gasps, “You two kissed?”
Taehyung doesn’t reply. Instead, his eyes roam around Jieun’s face and he’s positive that she knows something he doesn’t.

Bloody witch.

He made the right decision to come and see her about it.

“You know something, don’t you?” He asks & Jieun sighs in response before she nods.
“But, why are you here alone? What about Jeongguk? Isn’t he curious?” She asks, twirling a lock of hair as she tilts her head in confusion.

Taehyung shakes his head, “No. He doesn’t even know that I kissed him… he was sleeping.”

“You kissed him while he was asleep!?”
Taehyung almost looks offended at the accusation. “Who the fuck do you think I am? I fell while playing with Haru and he was sleeping on the couch.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah. Oh.”

She grins sheepishly, “Sorry!”

“Whatever.” Taehyung says, waving his hand in dismissal, “Please explain.”
“I feel like Jeongguk not knowing is both a blessing and a curse. Although, it depends on you if you tell him-”

“Cut the crap.” Taehyung cuts in, impatient. “Get to the point.”

Jieun sighs, “Remember how you owe me? It’s all connected.”

Taehyung blinks in confusion, “How?”
Jieun gets up from the swing and stands in front of him. Taehyung stiffens when Jieun reaches out to wrap her hand around his nape, “What are you doing?” He asks, alert.

“Close your eyes. This may be a bit overwhelming but this is the only way you’ll get your answers.” She says.
Taehyung hesitantly nods & complies.

He closes his eyes and instantly Jieun presses her other hand on Taehyung’s forehead and she starts chanting verses in a language he doesn’t understand.

He feels a chill run down his spine as he jolts. Jieun’s hand tightens around his nape.
Then he sees it. He sees Jeongguk and himself. He sees Jeongguk holding his hand, he sees Jeongguk smiling up at him. He sees Jeongguk kissing him slow and fucking him hard. He sees them talking about building a home together. He sees Jeongguk promising an eternity to him.
Taehyung sees tears and then he sees war.

Then nothing.

Jieun pulls her hand away and Taehyung blinks his eyes open with a gasp. He presses his hand against his heart and pants, tears suddenly brimming in his eyes, “W-what?” He stutters, looking up at Jieun as his vision blurs.
“You two were cowards. The fear of losing each other seemed to drown your love because you both were willing to lose those precious memories to save yourselves from getting hurt.” Jieun explains.

“Getting hurt...”

“Yes.” She says, “Getting hurt.”
“Centuries ago,” she begins, a far away look in her eyes as she recalls that time, “All the supernaturals went in war against the demons. They were superior, extremely powerful and cruel—ruthless, having no mercy upon others. It was either a win or lose. Kill or get killed.”
“There was absolutely no possibility of a truce. It was war. You were a vampire and he was a demon, against all the odds— you two still fell in love and hid it from the world. But, in the end you still had to choose sides, if you would’ve gone with him, you’d die and vice versa.”
“So?” Taehyung asks, eyes wide & attentive.

“Isn’t it obvious? You parted ways.” She points out.

“Why?”

Jieun raises her eyebrow, “Why? You two wouldn’t have been able to live after each other die and so–“

“We asked you to erase our memories.” Taehyung completes.
“Yes.” Jieun replies.

“The supernaturals won,” Taehyung says. “We eradicated the demon rule but demons were still allowed to co-exist with us. I remember that. Lots of demons had died. It was huge but there was never a war after that.”

Jieun nods, “That’s right.”
“And, that’s why the ratio of demons is less compared to then other supernaturals. They’re still powerful though but they don’t go around challenging others for a laugh like they used to do before.” Jieun explains.

Taehyung wipes his tears with the back of his hand, “Oh god.”
“He survived, obviously.” Jieun says, a small smile on her face. “I met you two again after years—I don’t even remember the place? Maybe it was a ball? There, I realised that the course of your relationship completely changed. You hated each other, despised the very existence.”
There’s a moment of silence before she continues, “It’s sad, very sad. But, this much hatred could’ve only stemmed from that much love. Right now, you two hate each other just as much as you loved each other before. Fate is sure twisted while playing it’s games.”
Taehyung buries his face into his hands as he sits there in silence—slowly absorbing the words in, making sure that this isn’t really a dream.

How is he supposed to look at Jeongguk now? How is he supposed to hate him with all these memories of love?

“Fuck.” He groans.
“What will you do now?” Jieun asks as she sits back on the swing beside him.

“I don’t know.” Taehyung sighs, “Everything changes after this—at least for me. I’ve spent centuries hating him… what am I supposed to do if my heart forgets that and decides to love him again?”
Jieun stares at him sympathetically, “I feel like it would’ve been easier if he got his memories back too. Will you tell him?” She asks.

Taehyung shrugs, “I should right? Why should I be the only one to suffer? I feel like I should…”

“You still sound unsure about it…”
“I’m pretty sure he won’t believe me.” Taehyung says, a frown on his face.

“Of course, he wouldn’t.” Jieun rolls her eyes, “He’ll either get his memories back when you kiss him or when he falls in love with you. Both are a bit…” she trails off, not wanting to offend Taehyung.
“I need some time. I can’t see him, I can’t go home now.” Taehyung says and Jieun nods, “Will you go stay at your friend’s place?”

Taheyung pauses for a bit, pondering over it before he shakes his head, “No. I’ll stay over at yours.”

“What?!” Jieun gapes, eyes widening.
“It’s late, if I go over to my friend’s place they’ll ask too many questions. You’re a safe option since you already know everything.” Taehyung explains with a shrug.

“Still-“

“Let’s go.” He says, cutting her off. He gets up from the swing and gestures her to follow.

“Ugh.”
32
“Finally here after hours of walking around.” Taehyung mumbles to himself as he stands outside the apartment. He knows he can’t stall any further, he will have to face Jeongguk some time or the other so he should just grow a pair of balls and get this over with.
He gets his first surprise when he finds out that the door isn’t really locked. It’s still early and his heart drops in his stomach at the thought of Haru leaving and getting lost while Jeongguk’s still asleep.

With a lump in his throat, he steps in.
He only relaxes when he sees Haru seated on the couch watching a random animated movie.

As if noticing his presence, Haru immediately looks up, his eyes lighting up when he spots Taehyung.

“Taetae!” He calls softly before running to him and hugging his legs.
Haru’s hair is a mess on top of his head. it’s as if he just got out of bed & directly sat down to watch a movie. He wants to reprimand him but he has other pressing matters to deal with right now so he lets him be.

Taehyung just crouches down & ruffles his hair, “I missed you.”
“I missed you too!” Haru says, smiling up at him.

Taehyung gets his second surprise when he hears giggles coming from Jeongguk’s room that definitely don’t belong to Jeongguk.

“Jeongguk! You’re mean.” A female voice says and Taehyung hears Jeongguk laugh loudly.
“How do you think I’m living with him?” Taehyung hears Jeongguk ask & the woman hums, “I know how you can’t stand him. Why don’t you ask him to take care of the kid by himself?” She asks.

“I can’t.” Jeongguk replies, “I owe that witch.”

“Is there no other way?” The woman asks.
“There is.” Jeongguk says, “If he agrees to take care of Haru by himself then I can be out of it. Although, I feel like Haru is fun to be around—it’s… Taehyung’s the real problem. He’s like a fucking leach. He’s always somehow there.” Jeongguk says.

Taehyung clenches his jaw.
There’s a pause before the woman jokes, “Maybe you two are meant to be.”

Taehyung hears Jeongguk huff, “As if. I can’t spend a day with him & you’re talking about eternity. I’d rather die than fall in love with him. I feel like he’s unloveable? He’s really annoying, I hate him.”
Taehyung suddenly feels the telltale sting of tears at the back of his eyes. His heart drops in his stomach all over again, it pains—it hurts.

He knows he shouldn’t really be affected by what Jeongguk says but he can’t help it, not when he got his memories back.
He feels like even if he’ll tell Jeongguk the truth, tell him they were lovers—he won’t believe him. Even if he kisses him & shows him what he saw, he’ll brush it off saying it’s in the past. Somehow, Taehyung feels like Jeongguk won’t even care. He hates him & that won’t change.
“Taetae...” Haru calls, tugging on his shirt, “Why you crying?” He asks before he reaches to wipe Taehyung’s cheeks with his small hand.

Taehyung doesn’t realise he’s crying.

“Don’t cry Taetae.” Haru says softly, he looks like he will burst into tears any moment now, too.
Taehyung can’t stay here. He can’t look at Jeongguk with love in his eyes when Jeongguk only has hate in his. He can’t hide & he can’t tell. He needs to leave. It feels like he’s dying—it’s worse than that.

“Taetae...” Haru calls again, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Haru’s crying too, his bottom lip wobbling.

Taehyung’s thankful Jeongguk doesn’t know he’s here. He wipes his eyes with the back of his hand before he grabs a paper.

‘I’m leaving with Haru’ — Taehyung.

And with that he picks Haru up and he leaves.
34
“Wait, where is Haru?” Jeongguk asks when he walks out of his room, “He was watching a movie—wait, oh my god—the door’s open… did he leave?”

“Hey! Jeongguk… look at this note I found on the table.” Rosé says, handing Jeongguk the note that was left by Taehyung before he left.
“He was here?” Jeongguk asks to no one in particular, “He should’ve at least told me he’s taking Haru… I was literally in the house too. What’s with him leaving like that after spending the night with-”

“Jeongguk.” Rosé cuts in, “Can you drop me home?”

Jeongguk blinks.
“Uh, yeah sure… just let me call Taehyung can ask him what he’s up to and when he’ll be back.” Jeongguk says, making a move to remove his phone out of his pocket but Rosé quickly stops him by holding his wrist, “Well, he’ll be fine he left a note… I need to hurry home, please.”

“To what do we owe this pleasure?” Minho asks with a grin on his face as he comes to stand beside Taehyung.

As Taehyung rolls his eyes in response, bringing the glass full of blood to his lips, he’s crowded by his other vampire friends whom he hasn’t seen since a long time.
He doesn’t visit this vampire bar often—just, when he’s not in the mood of dealing with other supernaturals or luring someone in for a meal. He’s definitely not in the mood right now since he knows there’s a high chance of running into Jeongguk if he visits his usual spots.
“You’re not the one to drink blood from a glass Taehyung, we all know that.” One of his friends comment and Minho hums, “Something is definitely up. Somehow, you look depressed? Why? Someone denied you blood or what?”

Taehyung clenches his jaw. He really wants Minho to fuck off.
“Listen-” Taehyung starts, pressing his hand flat against Minho’s chest to push him back, eyes flashing with warning when suddenly he hears murmuring around them.

“Is that a demon?”

“Doesn’t he know this is a vampire bar? How can he step in!”

“How shameless.”

“Ugh. Demons.”
Taehyung freezes.

A demon?

What if its-

“Kim Taehyung, there you are.” A voice calls and Taehyung squeezes his eyes shut because he knows exactly who it is. He could recognise this voice anywhere, he had loathed him but now just his voice sends shivers down his body.
Jeongguk walks like he fucking owns the place—and it’s a fucking vampire bar. He has a long black coat thrown over his casual clothes, his hair a mess on top of his head but it somehow makes him look more sexier & intimidating. His eyes narrow when they meet Taehyung’s.
“How did you know I’m here?” Taehyung asks as soon as Jeongguk approaches him. Jeongguk shrugs, the corner of his mouth curling up into a smirk, “Asked around…” he trails off.

“Just leave.” Taehyung sighs.

“No. Not until you give me answers that I want.” Jeongguk replies.
Jeongguk roughly pushes Minho away to stand beside Taehyung, he glances down at the glass in Taehyung’s hand and makes a face, “I’d ask you to buy me a drink but I don’t think anything here will be edible for me.”

“Yes. Because this is a vampire bar.”

“Yeah.” Jeongguk sighs.
“What the fuck dude.” Minho snarls, he reaches to grab the lapels of Jeongguk’s jacket before he pulls him in, eyes flashing red in warning, “What do you think you’re doing.”

Jeongguk looks unfazed, “You stink. Please move away.”

It only seems to infuriate Minho more.
“What? You’re here to talk to Taehyung? Do you think he wants to talk to you? He hates you bloody demon—”

And suddenly, Minho crumples down on the ground mid speech. Jeongguk towers over him, eyes turning black, “None of your damn business. Know your bloody place.” He glares.
“Jeongguk-” Taehyung wraps his hand around Jeongguk’s arm when he sees the vampires gathering around them. Taehyung knows damn well that Jeongguk’s at a disadvantage here, there’s no way he can come here, threaten one of them & leave unscathed. He’s powerful but he’s outnumbered.
When Jeongguk doesn’t budge, Taehyung growls, “Jeongguk. You’ll get killed here.”

Jeongguk turns to look at him and huffs out a laugh, “You think a bunch of wimps can kill me?”

Taehyung clenches his jaw, “Oh yeah? But, they will definitely kill me because of you.”
Jeongguk squeezes his eyes shut, “Fuck.” He says as he wraps his hand around Taehyung’s and speed walks towards the door, his aura so dark & strong around them that it doesn’t even let any of the vampires come close.

Taehyung’s pretty sure he’ll be banned from entering the club.
Once they’re outside, Jeongguk drags Taehyung to the back alley and presses him against the wall, hands resting on either sides of Taehyung, effectively caging him in. Jeongguk’s eyes slowly turn back to normal as he stares at Taehyung, he shifts closer & whispers, “Speak. Now.”
Taehyung cocks his brow at Jeongguk, trying to press himself further into the wall because it’s overwhelming—how close Jeongguk is, “Speak what? I have nothing to say to you.” Taehyung says, eyes flashing red, tongue peeking out of his mouth to lick his dry lips.
Taehyung watches as Jeongguk’s eyes follow that little movement before flicking back up to look into Taehyung’s eyes. He rumbles with a growl, “You’re fucking annoying.” He seethes.

Taehyung’s eyes flashes with something Jeongguk can’t decipher, “You said it before, I know.”
“Listen-” Jeongguk starts, voice a little guilty and a little desperate.

“You. Listen.” Taehyung says, cutting him off, “Our relationship is fucking toxic.” He spits out, “Living with you is like living in hell. Why do you think I need any other reason to get away from you.”
Now, Jeongguk looks hurt.

Taehyung suddenly feels like the worst person on earth to say that directly to Jeongguk’s face but also, there’s this pang of relief and satisfaction in his chest.

Jeongguk feels for him—whatever it is—feels enough to get hurt over his words.
Jeongguk doesn’t reply but he stares at him, eyes narrowed like he’s trying to figure him out.

“Then, why are you looking at me like that?” Jeongguk asks, after a few moments of silence.

“Like what?” Taehyung breathes out. He feels like Jeongguk is literally staring at his soul
Jeongguk blinks, “Like you want me to tell you that you’re lying & you don’t mean whatever you just said. You’re looking at me like you just found your long lost lov-”

Taehyung snarls, he pushes Jeongguk back with all the force he can muster. Jeongguk stumbles back & falls down.
“What the fuck-”

“Stay away from me. Don’t show me your fucking face again.” Taehyung snarls, fighting back tears, “And if you ever step into a vampire bar again, I’ll be one of those vampires who hunt you down and then kill you.”

After that, Taehyung turns back and leaves.
