2. Dianne van Giersbergen (Xandria, and Ex Libris)
Dianne can do it all, and she does it beautifully. Sheâs also quite the poet. When you can sing like THIS, and write your own songs, you deserve to be known.

3. Simone Simons (Epica)
Not your typical mezzo soprano! Simone has a gorgeous, and very unique voice that is so recognizable. Sheâs also an incredible songwriter! With her contributions to Epica, she deserves to be recognized (especially since she was only 16 when she joined).

4. Anette Olzon (Nightwish, The Dark Element, Allen/Olzon, and solo career)
Anette is something special. She changed the face of Nightwish, and has the ability to sing not only opera, but jazz, as well. The diversity is extreme and amazing!

The darkest soprano Iâve ever heard. Manuela is incredibly talented, and has the ability to give you goosebumps at every note she hits.

6. Tarja Turunen (Nightwish, solo career)
Tarja is the OG opera metal singer. She changed the face of singing in the 90s, and made Nightwish the iconic band they are. If it werenât for Tarja, we wouldnât have bands like Evanescence, Epica, and so much more.

Sharon is entirely self-taught, and is not only a singer, but a songwriter and composer! Within Temptationâs song, All I Need, even appeared on The Vampire Diaries. Sharon is beyond talented!

Alissa proved that girls can scream on the same level as guys can. Her growls, and even her clean vocals showcase just how talented she is.

10. Liv Kristine EspenĂŠs (Leavesâ Eyes, and Theatre of Tragedy)
Liv is the female face of Viking metal. Her beautiful vocals and love for all things Nordic made Leavesâ Eyes something that cannot be replicated.

Angela is a FORCE. As the original vocalist for Arch Enemy, Angela steamrolled the metal scene and put Arch Enemy on the top. Although no longer active, sheâs still part of Arch Enemy and puts her family first. We love you!

13. Amalie Bruun (Myrkur)
Amalie originally hid her identity in Myrkur, but am I ever happy she made herself known. Amalie is a multi-instrumentalist, and a can sing folk, opera, and scream, and an incredibly songwriter. She not only makes black metal, but folk. SO TALENTED.

14. Heidi Parviainen (Dark Sarah, Amberian Dawn, Iconofear)
A professionally trained soprano, vocal coach, keyboardist, and lyricist. The talent she possesses is amazing, especially in her band Dark Sarah: a cinematic story encompassing three albums, and sheâs starting another!

Imagine being able to switch from reggae, to death metal, to hard rock in a matter of seconds? Thatâs exactly what Tatiana can do! The versatility of this woman continually amazes me.

One of the most beautiful voices Iâve ever heard. Sheâs an incredible singer, has amazing stage presence, and sheâs classically trained! Plus, sheâs the second cousin of Tuomas Holopainen, so sheâs part of a family of greatness!

Charlotte is a huge part of symphonic metal. Sheâs been leading Delain since the beginning, has done some fantastic collaborations, and has just been a delight to metal as a whole!

Capri is AMAZING. She started out as a pop singer who went full metal and became an unstoppable force. The versatility and talent is incredible!
