Bighit universe theory!
An updated version!
~a thread~

So, let’s start with G-Friend.
I think the girls grew up together on Magic Island (yes the same one as TXT) and this is shown by the High School trilogy and the Marchen: +
But what do these glass beads do? What are they? Well, I believe that they are like tracking devices, as Eunha can watch each girl individually. We see that Eunha and SinB are the only ones that have glass beads, where Eunha has it to spy on SinB and SinB has tiny ones after-
-getting shot by Umji but why is it just them? Well, we’ll get to that a bit later. Why are there big ones? Well, I think the big beads each represent one person. So the one that Eunha picks up is SinB’s bead. But, why does Eunha have all of them? Why doesn’t SinB know that -
-Eunha has her bead. Well, I’ll get to that in a bit. +
Continuing from this, we also see that the Island’s lake gifts them a magical power. +
But what are these powers? They are shown in Fingertip!
We know that Umji’s is that she can create a projection of herself, Yuju can create a reflection of herself in objects, Yerin can manipulate light and Sowon has some kind of power associated with the sky. +
But what about SinB and Eunha? They’re the most mysterious ones. I believe that SinB has a Forward Time power, as shown by when she is holding the clock, which speeds up in time: +
Now, I believe that Eunha’s power is not time travel as most theorists believe. I believe that Eunha can jump between timelines and universes. As to why, I’ll get to it later, once I’ve analysed ON. +
Now we get to the climax. It’s clear that the girls are trying to steal the other’s power, via looking for the Navillera which clearly only Eunha wants. +
But before I continue, I need to answer a few questions. This’ll happen by analysing and theorising about ON, BTS’ most recent title track! +
I believe that where the MV is set is also Magic Island. After G-Friend’s School Trilogy, the girls, who abused their power, were kicked out by the leader of the island and the lake was exuded from their village. Many of the youth disagreed and so they started a rebellion. +
However, why don’t the boys have their powers them if they’re from the island? Their gift? Well, I think they do. I’ll get to that later. However, not all of them do because the island didn’t gift them it yet. The main person that we need to know hasn’t got his power is JK. And-
-the main person that does have his power is Jin. Now, let’s get on to the analysis/theory. +
We start with Jin, who is in a battlefield graveyard. He holds a dead bird and then the scene switches to JK, who is running through a field, outside the labyrinth, where he had been kicked out of for not being good enough for them. I believe he was expected to die here. +
Then we see Jimin, with a drummers boy, looking up at the sky. Drummer boys are often used at the start of a war. We also see Tae with a girl, his sister, who signifies the protection of purity. Tae is protecting his sister from the possible negative outcome. (Notice Tae -> ✝️)
It’s clear that Namjoon is representing Noah’s Ark and is the saviour/protector of animals. +
Then we see Jin with 7 bird cages around him. He has put the dead bird from before in the cage and then the scene switches to JK. This suggests that he is also dead. But J-Hope then shows up to give hope. +
Next, we have Yoongi, who is with lots of people. These are the youth.
This is where everything starts to happen. Taehyung and his sister get to the wall, Jimin’s drum kid plays the drums and JK wakes up. Then the walls open. Everything is starting. The rebellion is starting.
With Tae removing his sister’s blindfold, it is like he is saying “everything is ok. We will win because it’s all working to plan.”
The boys know that G-Friend are out there as they were excluded too, so they didn’t know that JK almost died. +
Then we have Jungkook coming to A LAKE. A LAKEEEE. And the other boys come to the island’s exit where them, plus the survivors, plus the boy with the drums, plus the sister of Taehyung all meet and-
-they release a dove. Meanwhile, JK exchanges his thorn restraints, which are most likely a nod to the thorns that Jesus was wearing when he was put on the cross. These thorns that Jk have are exchanged for a conch shell. +
! Annotations of thorns and conch shells. Thorns denote sin, sorrow and hardship and it is one of the most ancient symbols in the world, representing pain, and the thorn is an emblem of Christ's passion, as with the crown of thorns. With the conch, I need to mention a pretty-
-famous book. Lord Of The Flies. The conch represents civil discourse on the island, and only works as long as all believe in its power and the necessity of the idea it symbolises. It also symbolises courage, power and sovereignty. So basically, in LOTF, Ralph and Piggy suggest-
-to use it in order to allow a normal civilisation to take place. It was also associated with the most courageous and powerful characters, Ralph, Jack and Piggy however Piggy wasn’t given the chance to use it due to Jack being the most powerful and Ralph being the most-
-courageous. In a way, Piggy was given some sovereignty by being given the protector of the conch but he wasn’t regarded nicely until after he dies.
So, JK was exchanging hardship, sorrow and pain to bring about civilisation, power and sovereignty.
Let’s pause here with the-
-rest of the MV and talk about the fact that the lake gave him this power. Hmmm, which lake does this? Oh yeah! G-Friend! And what did I say I think SinB and Eunha did?
Oh yeah! They destroyed civilisation! +
So then the sky rumbles and a fire occurs. I believe that JK has started the destruction of the island. Maybe his power was destruction? Evil? Fire? I don’t know what it’d be called.
I think these lyrics are pretty significant. The island has been destroyed, along with the leaders and their supporters, and the island is reborn as a new, more natural, world. I assume the village they were living in was quite unnatural, due to G-Friend’s school trilogy. +
SOOOO, now we get to the exciting bit. A full theory.
The leaders of the island shut off the lake after G-Friend abuse their powers. This is right before fingertip where the girls are probably using their powers too much for whatever reason. Or perhaps, they were against them-
-because they wanted to shut it off for no reason. Anyways, that happens but the boys and the rest of the youth are against it too and so there is a rebellion planning. They plan to have JK act up and get kicked out. And so this happens-
-and JK is kicked out, given the excuse that he is not good enough for their society. JK takes this as a chance to get to the lake and the rest of the boys continue planning. Jin’s doves are how he communicates with the boys as they plan their escape. They know that. G-Friend-
-is out there on the island but they don’t know where. So they think it’s safe. The group collects animals, the youth that want to help and have their own goals and purposes. Taehyung’s goal is to protect his only family, his sister. Jimin has the purpose of-
-helping the boy with the drums to start the announcement of this rebellion. Namjoon’s is to protect the animals. Jin is the leader. This shows why he has a such a major part in HYYH. Yoongi is the protector of the people. JK is the one who starts it all. By blowing the conch-
-he is bringing the power alive, the power of the Island Deity, who starts the fire and rebirth of the island.
However, what the boys don’t know is that the island is going to kill them all. So just when the boys reach the top of pride rock: +
I believe they are all killed. But not really. They’re still alive. I think, Eunha uses her timeline powers to then transfer the 7 boys to another timeline. To do so she takes their beads and the others who had died already, and moves them to the current timeline they’re in now-
-where they have new lives and somehow, perhaps due to the Island Deity still knowing they’re alive, are tortured them to this day as a side effect. After all, the Island Deity is most likely the cat from TXT’s storyline and all the problems for the boys start when Jin is-
-comforted by the cat. I’ll get to TXT in a minute but let me just quickly finish off BTS.
So, when the boys meet at school on that day they’re given detention, they’re connection is restarted and perhaps, the island senses it. And so, Eunha, who also senses it, watches them-
-from afar, trying to help them, and perhaps reminding Jin of his power. (But the cat still is a curse as things don’t go his way for a long time) +
Also, maybe Taehyung’s sister survived as well as we know Taehyung has a sister in HYYH. So, yeah. That was just to clear anything about that up.
Back to G-Friend for a sec:
So, after this event, Eunha tells SinB, who-
-adds the glass beads to their collection (this is before Fingertip) and then, when the fight starts, Eunha gets to the beads first, wanting to protect the 18 active ones, and then SinB gets the rest. Perhaps SinB assumes hers is in there? However, this still doesn’t explain why-
-Eunha has 18! Well, there is still life on the island... little on that later. Also, as to why SinB assumes that her bead isn’t with her is because when the bead is with her, it’s tiny so because of her-
-obsession with getting the rest of the girls’ powers. This is it for now. Please give credit if you share this because I worked very hard on this. I’m not done and will continue adding but rn it’s 22:30 for me so I gotta peace out ✌️
I haven’t slept so... 😔 I’ll just continue coz I’m bored.
So, now I’m going to explain why there are more than 18 beads. It’s pretty obvious tho. 7+5 is 12 and then +1 for Tae’s sister, who I think is still alive and has also been brainwashed w/ BTS and that-
-makes it 13. Now...who else were also born on the island? TXT! (Wow no one had a clue~~~) Also, we have heard that bighit are planning on debuting a new girl group in the future so I think they’ll play a part in this. I recounted without Eunha’s hand in the way and there is-
-definitely more than 20 in there. So, there are more survivors alive.TXT time!
We begin their story at Nap Of The Star MV. This’ll be based after the war/rebellion as the 5 boys seem to be the only ones there. The 5 boys play under the-
-stars. I think that the boys were also meant to be saved by Eunha but she didn’t have enough energy to save them too. So they are stuck on the island. Now we get to the star on the island. How comes we hear of it for the first time here? G-Friend and BTS don’t have stars in-
-their universe, do they? Well, if we look at the lyrics of Crossroads, I high we’ll get deeper into way later, there are these lyrics:
‘Unfurling Singing star
Will it reach you?
Sparkling Shining star
Will you see it too?’
A singing star. And we know that in Magic Island MV,-
-the boys are looking for a singing star. Now, in BTS’ Aeroplane pt 2, Tae mentions a ‘singing star’ but he sees no star’
These are the closest references. So perhaps, they do know of some kind of star but because BTS U and GF U is set way after the events of the rebellion/war,-
-there is simply no way to know besides these lyrics.Let’s focus on TXT. The boys, who are pretty young, play with a telescope under the star. This telescope is how they look at the star.(I also think it’s some kind of leftover heirloom of BTS or of the village that-
-they found.But that’s just a random thought I had.)
Continuing on from this, the MV narrator then states: +
Then we see the boys go on their seperate paths. Strange right? It’s almost like something is taking their revenge on the boys. Like an island deity???? 👀
I believe the island deity (aka the witch/cat, which I believe are one in the same) wanted to get rid of the boys and so-
-it cursed them to forget their connection. Each boy went on their seperate ways but there is no one else on the island, right? So where do they all go? Well, we’ll get to that in a bit as well.
Chapter 2 starts and we get Yeonjun, who wakes up in his room. We don’t hear or see-
-anyone else in this house so I believe he’s the only one there. I also believe that’s the only house. So no, the house beside the forest in a bit is not another person’s house. It’s his house. Yes. Just hoping to clear that up.
Anyways, Yeonjun sees his horns, freaks out and: +
Then we see him hiding and in the distance the light turns off in his house. I just think that was him leaving the house to escape.
He then comes out as thunder strikes and he (scared) enters the forest timidly. (I love pathetic fallacy! 🥺) +
In the forest, Yeonjun is seen to be surrounded by butterflies, snakes, spiders and a figure is watching him in the trees.
That figure is seen when the star shuts down and in the Marchen for G-Friend: +
We also see in Persona that Namjoon draws a witch figure on the chalkboard and I don’t think that this should go unnoticed. I think, the witch is the island deity, as well as the cat. They are one in the same. The island deity is punishing them for causing the island’s rebirth-
-perhaps because it doesn’t understand why they did it, as it wasn’t a part of their society. Or perhaps the fact that it wasn’t a part of the society to begin with made it want to punish them. Because they destroyed such a beautiful society that it wanted to be a part of-
-however this is just a speculation. It’s evident that the witch/cat/island deity are going to play major roles and it will be really exciting to see how @BigHitEnt goes about it.
Anyways, moving back to NOTS, we then see Yeonjun set up a resting spot.He starts a small campfire-
-and then he sleeps. As it fades out, we get a view of Yeonjun and there is a skull right next to him. Now I’ll go into the annotations of skulls, butterflies, snakes and spiders. +
SNAKES:
Snakes shed their skin through sloughing and they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing. +
BUTTERFLIES: (that witch gives me the creeps)
Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.
(We also see butterflies in BTSU and GFU) +
SKULL:
Skulls symbolise death, mortality and the unachievable nature of immortality. So is someone going to die soon? The witch also has a skull face so maybe it will die? Who knows! (Beside @BigHitEnt)+
SPIDER:
The spider represents mystery, growth, and power. It symbolizes the shadow of yourself, or the dark aspect of your personality as well as patience. +
So we know that the snakes, spiders and butterflies all share one thing in common. They symbolise change. This moment will mark a big change in the boy’s life.
Now we move where we finally see the location of the rest of the boys.
SOOBIN:
Soobin is surrounded by bats and butterflies whilst playing with an ear trumpet. Funnily enough, bats also symbolise transition, of initiation, and the start of a new beginning. Aka, CHANGE. +
TAEHYUN:
Taehyun is sat on a pink arch with an owl. Owls symbolise knowledge, intuition, magic, renewal and secrets. Throughout TDC so far, Taehyun has been a pretty ambiguous but knowledgable character and there are many ideas about TDCM being a focus on Taehyun’s character. +
Alsooo, what does renewal also mean??? CHANGE. +
BEOMGYU:
Then we have Beomgyu, who seems to be living underground. Idk why but it reminds me of that story (I think it’s in both the Quran and the bible) about the people who ran away from their village and hid in a cave.Anyways, I don’t see Beomgyu surrounded by any animals but-
-some say he has snakes in there with him.
HEUNINGKAI:
Then we see Heuningkai on what seems to be a pedestal and he is surrounded by bats and a skeleton. +
Moving on from the symbolism of animals, we need to address that each boy has something ODD about them.
-Yeonjun has horns
-Soobin has big ears
-Taehyun has a star in his eye
-Beomgyu has spikes in his shoulder
-Heuningkai has angel wings
These become their insecurities... +
Also, I think it’s extremely interesting that we see the star in both Soobin and Taehyun’s scene: +
This is a bit of a stretch but maybe, because where Taehyun and Soobin went, they were still able to communicate with the star and so they listen and look for the rest of the boys. (They don’t know that the other is doing so as they have been cursed to forget eachother and not-
-meet up)
However, I also think that the others end up finding him as well:
-Beomgyu knows something.
-Heuningkai feels something.
-Taehyun sees something.
-Soobin hears something.
Now we move onto Chapter 4 where Yeonjun wakes up after thunder strikes. He is approached by the large demon-like cat, aka the island deity.
I think the island deity is similar to a Bakeneko. The bakeneko is a type of Japanese yōkai, or supernatural creature. It is-
-often confused with the nekomata, another cat-like yōkai. The distinction between them is often ambiguous, but the largest difference is that the Nekomata has two tails, while the Bakeneko has only one.
Left is Bakeneko and right is Nekomata) +
What are Bakeneko’s purposes? Well, the most important thing to really take out of the idea of Bakenekos is that they can summon ghostly fireballs and are known to accidentally start house fires, their tails acting like torches on any flammable materials in the house. We’ll cover-
-this way later.
Now, Yeonjun develops a cut in his neck, which links to the questioning videos.
In it, Yeonjun is dragging a purple tulip across his neck. Purple tulips represent loyalty and the questioning video forshadows the events that are about to take place. +
Also, another flower we see with Yeonjun is the bellflower, which symbolise delicacy and humility. Idk what that means for +u (yet) +
So, Yeonjun runs off, into a light. Also, whilst running back in the direction he came, you can see the witch again but I couldn’t get the right screenshot. +
Anyways, Yeonjun finds himself in a place and, unable to run, he collapses and tries to remove the horns from his head, succeeding and bleeding. It’s clear that Yeonjun sees these horns as the cause of his troubles and that they are emotionally and physically his pain. +
At the end, the boys reunite and show Yeonjun love by hugging him. They all have insecurities too and so they make him feel better. Heuningkai is the significant saviour of Yeonjun’s and it shows that because of Heuningkai, him and Yeonjun are close. (Foreshadows TDCE??)
I’m now going to backtrack to Fingertip, where we have just seen Eunha spy on SinB, who is running from Sowon and Yuju in another dimension. +
SinB shoots the television which is behind her. I believe this television is a door between two dimensions. When SinB shoots it, it destroys the doorway as well as the universe behind it, leading to Sowon and Yuju getting kicked out of that dreamworld. +
Then we see SinB in, what I like to call Plush Dreamworld. This is Umji’s favourite dreamworld and it’s where she locks up all her animal plushies. +
As SinB is about to sneak away we see Umji shoot her but SinB is left unconscious, releasing her glass beads. +
As Umji tries to steal the glass beads, SinB lifts her gun and shoots Umji, who disappears into a heart shaped puff. And now I’m going to answer some questions +
First of all, why does Umji go for the beads when you said yourself that only SinB and Eunha know about their purpose. I think it lies I. Umji’s facial expression and the other girls’ purposes:
We only see this facial expression for a split second at close up but perhaps she saw them and was curious. The girls’ intent is to have everything: they are jealous (this could be another reason as to why they were left out of the village back on Magic Island) They want more-
-than just their powers. (But that’s not the only intention and I’ll get to that in a min) So, Umji basically wants everything under control. She has her animal plushies locked up, she wants the powers and anything else that seems powerful or mysterious, like the beads. +
However, I think there are other intentions as well. Not all the girls actually want all the powers, despite being jealous. Yerin actually wants to protect Eunha, and this is shown later. SinB wants the powers too, so she teams up with Yerin to get to both Yerin and Eunha-
-however both Sowon and Yuju are trying to use the most forward approach, which is sharing out powers. Instead of fighting eachother, they are fighting together to go against SinB and a Yerin, who are preventing them from getting to Eunha. At this point I think Umji is dead-
-and SinB has her power (but we don’t see it exactly but I think this is true. She can’t use the power because otherwise Yerin will find out her true intention)
The second question is why didn’t SinB disappear when she was shot down by Umji? I think it has to do with the glass-
-beads. The more you have, the more powerful you are. This may not be a good thing but it strengthens the link between the soul and the dreamworld. Eunha and SinB are the strongest out of the 6 girls and that is why Eunha is probably difficult to find in the dreamworld. She-
-is so strong that her presence IS the whole dreamworld. She did make it with her powers after all. (Or at least that’s what I think)
Final question is is Umji actually dead? Well, like I said before, yes. Because her soul in the dreamworld is the same as her soul in reality-
-is one is killed, so is the other.
Now, continuing from that, Eunha enters the same place and the animals come to life. I think this symbolises their freedom from Umji. +
Then Eunha looks up to see SinB and Yerin are watching her. Eunha looks upset because maybe she knows that Yerin is getting manipulated by SinB. Also, idk what this box is. Maybe it’s another door? Like the TV. It definitely could be that. +
Then suddenly, facing SinB and Yerin are Sowon and Yuju. (They’re definitely gonna want revenge 🤣) they shoot their guns but SonB and Yerin dodge down. +
The shots both collide and then we see Eunha find and release the Navillera. Yuju is falling in slo-mo while reaching for the Navillera. I think that the collision of their beams caused Sowon and Yuju to die as well. I think that Yuju also knows about the butterfly effect and-
-this is why she didn’t go after the Navillera. She warned all the girls about it. You see, this is what the Navillera represents. The butterfly effect: butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic-
nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.
The main thing to take from this theory is that “one small change can lead to larger differences”
Then we see SinB with a similar thing that the Navillera was in (NOT A GLASS BEAD) and I think it’s a dud. SinB-
-left Yerin to go find the Navillera but came across a dud. So now, she goes to find Yerin, who finds Eunha. This is why we see Yerin closer to Eunha than SinB. But when Eunha turns around, she already sees the two. Either she gets startled to see the two teaming up or she-
-is startled to see SinB aimingbher gun at Yerin. However, I think it’s the first one. Because SinB has quite malicious intentions to use Yerin. As Eunha backs up, Yerin reaches for her but SinB shoots her. +
Then Eunha falls, wakes up and realises all that has happened. However, she has already made her wish already with the Navillera. The wish takes place after she falls asleep (and this’ll be linked to in the future so remember this!) +
Times goes back, Eunha’s tear retreats back into her tear ducts and we see a zoom in of a constellation. The Orion constellation. +
I’m thinking...should I do an analysis of each of the stars and the meaning behind them and then the overall constellation or just the constellation...hmmmm 🤔
I can’t see anything that stands out but if you want to look here is a link to Orion:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orion_(constellation)
+
I think the main thing to take out from this is constellations. We see constellations a lot in GFU BTSU AND TU. Constellation is a Latin word meaning “set with stars” and people used the stars to navigate, mainly when sailing across the ocean. (Before gps, compasses etc) +
I also think that it’s pretty significant that the Orion constellation is most noticeable by the THREE bright stars but that’s implausible to use as evidence because we know bighit is releasing another girl group later. +
After fingertip, what happens to the girls? Well, we see time go back and all the girls, revived, are standing in Eunha’s room. They are happy. You see, Eunha’s wish has been fulfilled. I believe that Eunha’s wish was to be happy like their youth again. This is why we see them-
-repeat everything in different ways. Each time loop starts happy and ends sad. And Eunha uses the Navillera to do so. I’ll explain that in a bit but let me bring up something.
After Eunha falls, I believe the dreamworld is destroyed. This is because the Navillera has been used-
-and SinB has caused Eunha’s soul to die in her dreamworld. However, because it’s HER dreamworld, Eunha’s physical form isn’t affected. And then she goes back in time and everything is fixed anyways. I think that because the girls were a part of Eunha’s dreamworld, some of their-
-physical form had to be affected but obviously it’s Eunha’s dreamworld so she can’t be affected, right? Well, beside emotionally I guess? Emotions still take place in the MV so yeah...
(Tomorrow I’ll continue with Run Away and the starting point of HYYH.) +
I just realised that there’s a lot of typos and stuff in the first lot of tweets but it’s because I was rushing to rewrite them after I accidentally deleted them. So sorry...there will be a lot of mistakes so when I reference anything, I’ll make sure to show an image of that-
-if I find it. Also, about constellations, here is G-Friend’s constellation thing. It’s from the Memoria teaser I believe and apparently it’s the constellation of their anniversary. (Capricorn)
So far, here is a summary of what has happened above:
We’ve started with the girls living on the island in high school. (High school trilogy takes place)
Then we have Love Whisper, where they get their powers and discover Navillera.
Then the conflict arises and Navillera takes-
-place. They abuse their power and either because of this or because of something else, the girls leave Magic Island or are kicked out. With the help of Eunha, they escape to another timeline. (I forgot to put that in there I think)
The elders of the village(aka not the youth)-
-create big walls to close off the lake, as they believe that powers should not be given to this generation. The youth (BTS +youth) create a rebellion to fight them and a war arises. Jungkook is kicked out, because he was caught, and he runs to the lake, where he gets a-
-power. This was fire and a destructive power overall. Thanks to this, the island is given a rebirth and the elders are all killed in the process. However, their actions awake the island deity, who kills most of the youth too. Eunha sees this (I want to say this happens in-
-Summer Rain as she sees something remember?) and so she uses all her energy to save who she can. BTS (and Tae’s sister?) get put in one timeline but the amount of energy used wipes their memories and they are given a whole new life (as a result to side effects) and perhaps some-
-others too. However, 5 boys are left behind on the island. TXT, who become friends with the Star of the island. (We don’t know much about it but I believe that it has been around the island for ages. We just need more confirmation from bighit)The island deity curses them to-
-forget the star, due to its anger, and the boys go off in their own direction.
In Nap Of The Star, from Ch2, the rest is a storybook telling/dream of how they met, perhaps conjured up by one of the members(Yeonjun)Initially, they all are alone, having no memories of eachother-
-and then they are faced with troubles (as shown by the cat, which represents bullying)and because of this they meet again, waking the Star song, not the star. They remember faintly and are going to be looking for the star song. (We’ll get to that later)
Now we have fingertip-
-take place (in a chronological sense) as the girls seek out the powers in the dreamworld Eunha made for them to have fun in. Eunha is upset because she wants the girls to be innocent and happy again, like the old days, but they all just want power. So she plans to use the-
-Navillera to wish them back to then. And she succeeds, despite SinB killing all the girls basically...
And here is where I got to. Phew, I hope a few bits make sense now but I did accidentally lose most of the beginning because of a mistake I made and I lost my thought process😬
Btw, I forgot to mention that the conch shell does EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what it’s meant to do. Perhaps because what JK exchanges wasn’t the glass beads but thorns, which caused it to be a negative power???
