analysis of mewgulf’s body language and my opinion on when things started to shift drastically

1-SHOULDERS AND CHESTS look at those 1st. here’s why: our bodies unconsciously do things when we’re attracted to ppl. EX: psychologists have proven that when a man’s shoulders/ chest points in your direction continuously they’re showing their interest in you. before and after

the first thing I noticed when I knew things were starting to change was how their bodies will naturally close the distance between them AND how their shoulders/chests are always pointing to each other in the end. it’s not something you can fake bcuz it’s an unconscious behavior

2) mirroring! let’s be real. we’ve all noticed how eerie their synchronization is. well my fellow waanjais I’m here to tell you.. mirroring is another unconscious cue our bodies send when we feel a connection to someone. (creds to op of the edit)

we also tend to pick up on one another’s mannerisms – perhaps adopting similar speech patterns or phrases or performing similar activities. ex: turning, smiling, nodding, bowing, talking at the same time. and of course... tadam (creds to op for the vid)

3) staring. we all know MG tend to stare at each other, but what’s special abt that exactly? well, it’s WHERE they’re staring. another unconscious cue is when there’s an attraction, ppl tend to stare @ 3 things: eyes, nose, & most importantly lips. guess where I’m going w/ this?

we often comment on M staring @ G’s lips but... if u watch closely there’s been several times where G has done the same. we tend to stare @ people’s lips we find attractive bcuz either we’re thinking abt kissing them OR bcuz their lips r very appealing

yes, this moment is during a photo shoot, HOWEVER the eyes never lie, & we can all see what his focus was on. again, the classic “dragging of the eyes down to the lips and back up” cue is an unconscious way of showing ur attraction to a person

it was so funny when he pulled his chin hair , BUT what I also took away immediately was the fact that M had been staring so intently at G’s face that he noticed such a small detail like that. you don’t notice those things unless ur staring very hard

4) voice/ tone. kana has always had a soft spoken voice. which is why his duality between him irl vs. type is so interesting. BUT what I’ve noticed (I think we all have) is his tone of voice & how it differs when he talks to a certain person..

basically, the pitch of his voice changes whenever he speaks directly to M. studies show that, “unconscious changing of tone represents desire for affiliation & intimacy.” so, it’s a way to show your affection for someone and establish your connection

we tend to match the pitch of our lover’s voice or the person we’re attracted to. it’s the bodies way of unconsciously showing our deep adoration for that person. in the clip, you can hear both of their tones of voice change especially at the end (M ).

5) touching. we know these two are known to be touchy. whether it’s at events, in lives, or off camera (as explained by the cast and staff), however, recently, I’ve noticed things started to change. their touching became a lot more pronounced. specifically subtle touches...

lately, there’s been instances where you can sometimes catch them subtly touching each other. ex: while laughing/ joking, fixing the others hair, or simply resting their hands on each other and leaving them. here’s an example:

subtle touches can mean more than just flirting. they’re also our bodies way of showing ppl that the 2 parties involved are very comfortable with e/o. meaning, MG have a deep level of trust with e/o to be able to naturally share such intimate touches now

of course I’m gonna add this in thigh touching. these regions along with the chest can be considered “intimate areas” so seeing the level of comfort G has while M is touching him so intimately proves 1 thing. this is a common form of affection for them.

M touches G’s waist a lot too. its also an intimate area ,which reiterates the fact that they share trust/familiarity with e/o. it can be touched in an intimate way or to show guidance/protection. hands tend to gravitate to places we’re used to touching.

6) THE GLOW. studies show, when someone is in love or attracted to someone they physically start to look different. clear sign that things were changing between MG (in my opinion) was when they both started to glow different. and the first one I noticed was G

G has always had a beautiful smile, but in the second pic? I noticed at the time just how different he was starting to look.. & that smile? was directed at a certain someone too his tone became warmer, his smile became brighter, & you can see it all over his face. that’s love

same with M.. but for me... it was his eyes that changed. they’ve always been expressive but they seem even softer now.. especially when they’re directed at his person. they hold this look of intimacy that you can’t just fake.. especially when looking at the person you love

when they’re together.. the glow? it’s out of this world. when ur in love ur eyes dilate, ur smile becomes brighter, & you tend to radiate happiness. it’s the bodies way of saying “this person is being positively affected by someone special” and with them? it shows so clearly.

7) mirroring (2) MG’s mirroring has intensified, so I wanted to do a pt 2. it’s clear their bond has grown even stronger than before. that has happened bc the deeper their connection gets the more their bodies will unconsciously show their bond. focus on their posture lately

also, when 2 ppl are attracted to eo they tend to hyper focus on one another. so when ppl tease them & say they’re making everyone become air, it’s sorta true. it’s not intentional! but their bodies unconsciously wrap them up in their own little bubble.

8) hormones
when we’re attracted to someone our brains release 3 “happy hormones” dopamine, serotonin, & oxytocin. when dopamine is released your serotonin levels increase, & oxytocin is produced. this will cause you to feel a surge of positive emotions.

lately, they seem different & then I realized... it’s because of these hormones that are being released. it’s caused them both to appear so much brighter & happier which ties in to what I’ve previously discussed about how they have a “glow” now

all of these unconscious cues I’ve discussed in this thread, simply mean one thing. mewgulf have a very deep connection & love for eo. they met by fate & their story is continuing to beautifully unfold. wrapping the body language section up with number 8 since y’all know why

now that I’ve finished the body language section of this thread, I’ll move on to mewgulf’s shift & when I noticed it I hope to interact with lots of you when I post my thoughts about it bcuz... I wanna know when you guys noticed it too! I’ll be updating soonnn I promise

part 2- the shift.
there’s been so much speculation going on about when we think mewgulf first started their relationship and when a noticeable shift happened,, and I’m here to tell you guys there hasn’t just been one I’ve noticed. but four. disclaimer: this is my opinion!

so, for me? I’ve been a mewgulf stan since nov. I started watching tt right before ep 3 aired. and have been a mewlion since 2018. with mg I saw something different with them on screen than other ships.. but I brushed it off at first.. UNTIL

i binged all of their workshops clips & quickly noticed they had a special bond. i’m sure we all did. the month of dec was a turning point for mg. the entire fandom noticed it. they went from being close, to being closer on a deeper level. i believe, the first shift was in dec.

to me, dec was a time of rebirth for mg. shedding things from the past & becoming optimistic abt the future. they started to rely on eo more. & the looks? they truly began. do I believe dec was THE month? maybe not. but to me, it was definitely the starting point for them.

for example, this event? something about their energy just hit different.. they seemed more free and smiley. it stood out and to this day waanjais talk about it being one of the days everything seemed to change. it’s almost like this was the beginning..

shift number two for me happened in january. this one? was quite noticeable. physically. they had always been touchy BUT by january it was almost like g specifically had started melting in to m’s touches, and embracing them a lot more. he got comfortable. nye? very significant.

they chose to spend such a significant holiday together. traditionally, the merit making they participated in was one for couples.. so seeing that? seeing them celebrating together? I realized perhaps more was starting to go on between them.

also, when the reaction w/ james came out, that was probably the 1st time i said to myself “mewgulf have feelings for each other” bc of their body language. it said “we have gone through hard times together but they made us stronger and deepened our trust for each other”

it was like everywhere one of them moved, the other followed. not just in this reaction vid, but also in their interviews later that day. they were blushing and sharing soft looks and teasing eo more than usual.

so when the other day these subs were released, it further confirmed what I had been thinking then. they reached a new level in their blooming relationship where it started to become more apparent how much they were attracted to eo, and ppl began noticing.

in other words, I think in jan they confessed and agreed to take things slow. by feb they were inseparable and it became very apparent what was happening between them bc wbk their words say one thing, but their bodies always say another. and finally, the courting stage had begun

shift 3 and 4 will be posted tomorrow which are my fav parts

shift number 3? I believe, happened in march. the looks? intensified. their touching? became more intimate. as stated previously in this thread, mewgulf managed to wrap themselves up in their own little bubble due to their attraction for eo. and by mar? it REALLY started to show

they had gotten so loud to the point right before the mcm event in march, I just had to make this acc. and that day? they shared a moment that was so intimate I had to genuinely look away. you can’t fake that. that look from 0:18-0:22? that’s love.

to me? that moment was just a sweet reminder that their love is not only mutual, but neither of them could hide it any longer. now, the elephant situation? fully solidified everything for me. g made it for m bc he knew he collects figurines. m’s genuine look of surprise? golden.

it’s been months of us witnessing their relationship unfold. down to when they sulk at eo & make up. from the moment their feelings seemed to be more open & hard to hide, to important days spent together, specifically mew’s birthday, and now we’ve made it here. the latest shift.

there was the courting stage, the honeymoon stage, and now they’ve reached another stage. their relationship has matured. they’ve started publicly showcasing it. keep bringing up their future together, and have completely met in the middle to better understand each other

it’s clear they’ve both reached a level that they’re fully committed to making their relationship work long term. supporting eo’s solo work, and listening intently when the other speaks and offering words of encouragement? ik we joke abt this, but it’s true. they’re domestic now.

after what we’ve all witnessed in the funday show, the things they said? the way they kept looking at eo? the level of comfortablity? it is very clear, mewgulf plan to have a future together. so let’s listen to their words, “stay together for a long time” & always support them

bonus (1): i found this interesting.. basically, i noticed m kept shifting around (his eyes, his body) & he was shaking his legs a lot.. which is an unconscious way to release your anxiety or stress.. he did this when asked the question “are you serious?”

after watching it again i noticed towards the end he kept blinking. if you sorta put that with his excessive leg shaking,, & his sorta jittery body language plus g’s, there’s a chance that perhaps... someone’s not telling the whole truth.. but again, that’s just an observation.

either way,, you could clearly see g was waiting for m to answer and judging from his reaction... well it’s a dead giveaway
