I am excited to see so many of our friends join #twitch and excel in sub numbers and growth. It's rad to see, and honestly, it baffles me. Not in like a jealous way, but in a "holy shit, that's dope, teach me your ways". I get hit up nearly twice a day between discord, email, dm,
To share tips on how to produce high quality content. We have been written up in articles, produced and consulted for amazon, twitch, microsoft, charity organizations etc stream 40 hours a week for 4 years with ground breaking interactive content and have been pretty much locked,
At the same sub range of 1300 to 1500 since launch 4 years ago with nearly no growth. We have an amazing, super engaged audience that blows retention models out of the water, but alas no growth. From an industry standpoint we are constantly hit up to share our knowledge and seen
As a success model but to an audience standpoint we are often scratching our heads wondering how to ever move over that impassable hump. So I am humbling asking with no irony, how do you all do it? I have been doing this for so long at this point and undestand so many small
Details of live production habits, flow, engagment models etc but can not seem to crack this egg. I understand our content may be too niche, too outside of discoverable categories, but surely there is a place for growth. Twitch of course has spent years telling us there is,
But our numbers don't lie and we are left baffled. I know I have helped many of ya on here with gear and consulting and wondering if ya could throw me a bone with some ideas as we try to navigate through this growth conundrum hurdle and maybe some of those tips could help others
Who are stuck in the same circle. Love ya all and I truly do hope to see us all rewarded for our hard work. Also totally prepared for the hard truth of "you just aren't likeable to a broader audience or like in general as a person". We understand we have made things hard for
Ourselves by making shows that people love but ultimately can't last forever creating this constant yoyo of up a little down a lot each show cycle but even then all that growth had to be forced by pulling people off platform into our world and educating them on platform behavior
Which is a lot of lift to constantly navigate. I really wanna believe there is a way to grow in the innovative/story driven content space while staying true to the platform we love. Zac 4am unable to sleep thoughts rant out.
Also please for the love of god do not take this as a take that I am not appreciative of every minute a person spends watching the dumb stuff that comes out of our heads. I am forever greatful to have a career telling stories and don't ever want to take that for granted.
Also fuck me this thread is riddled with spelling errors.
I'll add one more thing. Not fishing for complimemts here, honestly not my style. Hoping to create conversation with peers on best practices.
Coming back to this thread to see none of my peers shared any insights or personal knowledge on the subject at hand... cool cool cool. Hope of starting a discussion, squashed.
