i will not be adding the navajo nation ndoh fundraiser to my thread about resources and i would appreciate it if folks would stop tagging, sharing, and dming me about it. there are plenty of *reliable + reputable* community-led, grassroots, + non-profit orgs i’ve already shared
in fact, y’all should be thinking about WHY the navajo nation president, emergency operations center, + health command center thought it best to organize their own fundraiser + WHY they couldn’t, can’t, or simply refuse to work with community-led relief efforts 🧐🧐🧐
i’ve been really bothered by the fact that even though ethel branch’s fundraiser is successful, reliable, + trustworthy, the navajo nation began limiting their services/efforts, they refuse to lift restrictions, + they’ve denied their request to include them as essential.
anyway, that’s just my two cents about how power hungry and greedy tribal politic(ian)s have sidelined absolutely necessary community-led services + relief efforts all because they want to be the “only official COVID-19 fundraising and donation effort” 🙄
continuing this thread with more updates about who and what navajo nation entities are trying to limit the reach + services of ethel branch and the navajo-hopi COVID-19 relief fund. really interesting info but also not really surprised by it. 🐸🍵
