When I was a kid I would draw these super complex topographic maps when I was bored or sensory overloaded in class. I used to hide or throw them away but turns out my mom kept some. Thinking about this now as I try to untangle some of my #Neurodiversity stuff.
Here’s my computer screen now. Still making maps but now they are real places :).
Not sure whether to post more here or in new tweets but I’ve got tons. Pardon the super cringeworthy place names I was like 8 😂
Relatedly this is how I take notes at a meeting. If I don’t do this I get very uncomfortable and also don’t retain any info.
And I guess I still draw maps this is my notebook now
Omg that one isn’t done!
Recent variant with water flowing down overlapping shapes in this notebook.
a random recent thing here too, water flowing down a color gradient
Hey look a new one! (I forget how to quote a tweet in another thread)
Just dumping doodles in here now.
I know things are overwhelming and weird and awful but I found a few more of my old topo map doodles.
Here’s a new one! Vermont-inspired, with roads and farms too.
Canyon and glacial lakes, a few roads and little towns.
Back to more older ones, from middle and high school.
This one makes me sad to look at because it’s from middle school right in the depths of the worst part of my life. Here I was doodling this map and trying to hide it, on the back of this bizarre history quiz that I apparently decided I deserved a b for not a c.
More maps for today.
