Since the quarantine started, I& #39;m getting a lot of #contentwriters emailing me about writing work. I love supporting #freelancers (I am one!), but let me throw a few things out there that might help those of you looking for writing work: (thread)
Please, please, PLEASE scan your emails for grammar errors before you email editors. Running @Grammarly is not cheating and you come across really unprofessional (even if they& #39;re just typos!) when you misspell things like, oh I don& #39;t know...
THE NAME OF MY COMPANY. Or MY (very easy to spell) NAME.
Also, try curating your content towards the blog you want to guest post on instead of proposing topics that are in your wheelhouse but not theirs. If I& #39;m publishing a mead blog, I don& #39;t need anything about skincare.

Like, it& #39;s super obvious when you& #39;re mass-copying a bunch of blogs, and I get it-- that& #39;s the hustle. But If you can take five seconds to inject the link of my website in the email, you can take ten and come up with an article proposal that would fit my blog.
And finally, try reading a couple articles from the blogs you& #39;re writing to so you can get a basic understanding of their tone and style. Two or three are fine and they& #39;re usually only five-minute reads when you& #39;re doing content writing.
I& #39;m not saying these things to be a pedantic twit. I appreciated any feedback when I was doing the same. But I can& #39;t tell you how many people make these glaring mistakes. If I& #39;m turning you down, plenty of other blogs are too, and that& #39;s a big ol& #39; bummer. You deserve work!
So make sure to polish your emails until they shine-- otherwise, we& #39;ll think you won& #39;t handle our blog with the same amount of care. *climbs off soapbox* Oh and for the record-- we& #39;re not taking guest posts, sorry :/
y& #39;all goofin, I got like three emails after posting this thread asking if we were taking guest posts.
