I& #39;ve always loved collecting things ever since I was a kid, and something I& #39;ve recently gotten into are watches. I& #39;ve only started being interested in watches last year, but this year (2020) I& #39;m taking the first few steps towards building my own collection. [Thread]
I started this thread so that I could share with y& #39;all the joy of watch collecting. I only hope that this thread becomes bigger and bigger, as the collection grows. I& #39;ll update it as soon as I have something new added, but it& #39;ll defo be on a weekly/monthly basis.
Without further ado, let& #39;s get started with the first watch of the thread which is, the Seiko 5 SNK809. This is an automatic watch, with Seiko& #39;s in-house movement caliber 7S26. It actually comes with a nylon fabric strap originally, but I& #39;ve changed it to new leather ones.
I didn& #39;t think the leather strap would look suitable, but look at it, it& #39;s a beau. It has a case size of 37mm, so it& #39;s very suitable for smaller wrists. Overall, I& #39;m very happy that I could start this journey with this watch as my first automatic.
I think that& #39;s it for now. Next week I& #39;ll share about the watch that I think get the most compliments for. Till then

When people say James Bond, the watches that come to mind are the Submariner or the Seamaster. But there is a watch that has paid tribute to the Seiko G757 worn by Agent 007 in Octopussy, and that is, the Casio Royale. (AE-1200)
This is not exactly the watch featured in the movie, but it& #39;s the next best thing since the G757 has already been discontinued. It wears substantially at 42mm, and it is a digital watch. The features include World Time, timer, stopwatch, alarms, 10 year

A workhorse, I recommend it to anybody who wants something affordable, reliable, and packed with functions in a retro inspired watch. I& #39;ve relied on this piece constantly, evident of the scratches all over. Overall, it& #39;s a watch that I think many people can love, including me.
About time I add another watch to this thread, this time it& #39;s the Timex Weekender Chronograph. This is my most recent acquisition, and I gotta say I really love wearing this one. It does originally come with a nylon nato strap but I& #39;ve already changed it to a leather nato.
I do think people should look at Timex more when they& #39;re looking for that fashion watch aesthetic. They are of higher quality and come at a more affordable price when compared to the fashion brands with higher mark-up. Defo suggest this as a better alternative to DW, Vincero etc
Would love to go in-depth to explain how it works but I& #39;ll just upload a video to show you what it can do. Basically, a chronograph is a stopwatch, which is a pretty cool function to have on a wristwatch. This watch is powered by a quartz so it does uses a battery.
