So here is a review of an average day as a hospital pharmacist in gif form. It is presented with the DEEPEST love and affection for a job i love....
Walking into work with a colleague (although obvs appropriately socially distanced)
Feeling cheerful, I double check the rota
We'll be fine. I fill my pockets with pens, sticky notes and head out to the ward
First of all, I deal with urgent queries and orders
My tech arrives. Me all day:
Tech, all day:
I introduce myself to the new doctor
And give them my pep talk
I'm told there's a tto for urgent discharge. The ambulance is already booked. Discharge facilitator:
It's a complex venalink ....
With controlled drugs....
Controlled drug is correctly written
Technician gets hold of relatives, they have venalinks at home
Time to leave the ward for a bit
Time to head back to see how everyone in the department is and have some lunch
An afternoon in the dispensary, I try and keep on top of outpatients and orders coming from the wards.
We work seamlessly as a team to tackle each prescription in turn
The ato's check the emm order screen at 4.55pm to see a pharmacist has added a load of orders
Everything is done for the day. I thank my colleagues and head home
This thread was done entirely for my own entertainment. I love my job so much. I couldn't even mention all the brilliant patients I meet, there just aren't enough gifs for them all.
This has gone a bit mad, so will take the opportunity to say thank you to my brilliant team. I am so well supported and love being with you all . Thanks especially to @stinsley13 and @BednallRuth for cheering me on.
