Sure, it may look like an mdf backed wood framed pinboard from Officeworks... but to me it looks like a Restfield Cemetery game skirmish board for #Buffy. #warmongers
Just needs a good coat of texture paint and some flocking. :)
Yep, my lockdown project to stop me going insane.
First game board from yonks ago. Lessons learned: this new one will be completely flat and all the raised areas will be modules on cds.
First coat of goop down. Just a quick test that I have enough @RenedraLimited gravestones.
Gangs coming along too. Early base coats on everything but Giles and Tara are done.
My goop mix is a tradesman grade pva, liquitex burnt umber and a mix of herbs and grits. Coat 2 will have no chunky bits and is more about evening out the surface for minis to sit on.
Minis are a mix of modified Hasslefree and GZG figures.

I didn& #39;t bother finding a Xander because he is the worst.
Goop layers done, now a blended turf from woodland scenics. Lots of layers to go yet, but it is pasta and izombie time. X
I am using modge podge matte to glue on the turf, as it is super tough and dries... matte.
A soft brush scrambles the flock up making it look much more like lots of little plants.
I put furnature felt pads on the underside so it doesn& #39;t scratch the table.
Once I had all the scatter and leaves in place, I sprayed the board down with diluted modge podge in a pump spray. A few layers of this ensures most of the flock stays on the board. It is still wet in the photo-it will dry overnight. Next up: blending the graves in.
The real graveyard they shot in.
A good start.
So far the project has cost me about 37-40 aud$ today, if you consider that all the flocks and graves have been hanging around in my collection for years- so I get to use them up and get a great board out of it.
I use cheap craft acrylic paint burnt umber and raw umber from dervlan and jo sonja. Dont use mini paints as they will cost a bomb.

This cost me 7 bucks in burnt umber alone.
I use the same paints on my bases, as I realised I have thousands of minis, so it made sense to find a supply I could get that was readily available and cheap.
Okay, that& #39;s the build for tonight.

If you enjoyed this so far, maybe buy me a coffee? But don& #39;t buy one for Willow... it makes her jumpy. http://Www.ko-fi.com/dellak ">https://Www.ko-fi.com/dellak&qu...
What& #39;s a #Buffy episode without someone low in their character arc landing in a pile of garbage? Weekend work in progress of some Sunnydale props. Bins, bags and fire hydrants from @FenrisGames
Looks like I will have to risk officeworks again for some foamcore to build some crypts. I can& #39;t find any resin or plastic ones online that fit the Buffyverse.
I was gonna paint my fire hydrants red, but a little research tells me they are yellow in Hollywood. However, I also found this... Sunny-D indeed has red hydrants.
Imagine if I painted them the wrong color?
Maple court is the main street in Sunnydale. It was based on Edward Hopper& #39;s Nighthawks painting. Weirdly, Willys Place, the secret demon bar, is literally meters away from The Magic Box. Luckily the whole street fits tabletop nicely. Shame The Bronze isn& #39;t there.
But I get ahead of myself. Restfield Cemetery first.

Next session I tackle the rest of the gravestones.
Speaking of which, I did some interesting fact finding about who lies in the real Restfield cemetery... play it again Sam... https://twitter.com/delaneykingrox/status/1172909349078913025?s=19">https://twitter.com/delaneyki...
Finally a sunny day! So I grabbed the board and gave it a couple of heavy coats of spray varnish. This will stick down any remaining scatter and ensure that I can stack the board against the wall.
For easy of access during gameplay, I am only modelling the lower trunks of the trees. Crushed toilet rolls glued to coasters form the basis. They will be toughened with pva glue then bark texture added.
Boom. A quick tree marker.
Graves now have dirt, just need dry brush and flocking. Board coming along nicely.
Still need to finish the figures, but it& #39;s already starting to feel good.
And with the varnishing today she stacks without shedding.
Update to Sunnydale project, I managed to grab this mini off ebay. Go Razorbacks!
"I have a good feeling this year, it& #39;s all about eggwhites, if we can stay focused and have less unexplained deaths..."
And my first statue arrived today, a @reapermini Angel of Protection. Just need to make a plinth.
