This may seem like a “duh” moment, so stay with me as I attempt to explain some nuance.

For many years, the right has talked about the Democrats and their enablers in media.

In fact, how many times have you seen someone say, “Democrats and the Media, but I repeat myself.”
>>
So, I’m not denying the reality that the two are in a symbiotic relationship.

What is different about this election — or at least what seems different — is that it is NOT a Republican candidate verses a Democratic candidate.

It is a Republican Candidate verses the Media >>
Older, wiser, more incisive people may tell me that it has been ever thus.
Maybe it has.
I came of age in the Bush era and remember Dan Rather’s fall from grace for the “fake but accurate” documents.

But in the past, media bias seemed tilted toward enabling Dem politicians. >>
This year, this election the media does not seem to be using their power to protect their candidate, but using their candidate to protect their power. Because their way of life they’ve spent decades protecting is in a death spiral. >>
That’s why I say this is not Rep vs Dem election, but Rep vs the Media and their bias
their lies
their stranglehold on political messaging
their self-satisfied ivory towers.

They’ve been exposed and they‘d rather fight than face their biases and be objective.

Some will argue “the 2016 election was Rep vs Media!”

No, I don’t think so. Even then, the Media wanted Hillary and went to bat for her.
They propped up Trump thinking she would defeat him, and in doing so sowed the seeds of their own destruction.
