The first Tuesday on this chart is April 28th. Next Tuesday is May 5th. The weather in NYC is more important than the daily Cuomo charts. Better weather means the masses step out and some of them pop off too. It’s not a full sunny week ahead but temps are rising.
Today was a nice weather in NYC; first nice weather in many days. Look at the empty roads and social distancing going on all around as the masses await for Cuomo’s Phase 1 to kick in May 15th.

Reverse that. Look:
More from today in NYC; 17 days to May 15.
Yesterday (Saturday) was a high of 70 in NYC and parks were loaded today as you can see on Twitter.
The driving level in NYC is down 36% from the baseline (mid Jan), but it’s essentially double from the low point of late March. In NY overall, it’s down only 29% from the baseline.
From the 1/13/20 baseline, vehicle traffic yesterday was

Down 12% in PA.

Unchanged in TX.

Up 8% in OH.

Up 11% in Colorado Springs.

People in the US care less and less about Covid charts. Circle back in a week when weather will be nicer. The lockdown is essentially KAPUT!
TODAY in Colorado! When #LockdownGovernors keep extending the lockdowns; children out of school “for rest of school year,” and crush people’s right to assemble/pray, they LOSE everything. Better path is to open with measures such as masks. But now people tuned them out. IN FULL!
Meanwhile, @nypost reports that August 2020 bookings for Carnival Cruise are up 200% from the same time last year. https://nypost.com/2020/05/09/carnival-swamped-with-bookings-after-announcing-august-return/
March 26 through March 30, driving in NYC averaged 39.7% of the Jan 13, 2020 baseline by Apple.

For the same 5 calendar days in April it was 49.2% of the baseline.

The past five days (May 5-9) it was

62.6% in NYC.
