. @GovTimWalz Your plan has failed. Let's look at the facts.
First confirmed case in Minnesota of Covid-19 March 6.
At the time of your shelter at home order (3/27) there were 398 confirmed cases & 4 deaths.
On April 10 when the order was to end there were 1336 cases & 57 deaths

With an incubation period of 2-14 days we will work from April 10 to give the benefit of a more accurate assessment.
W/ stay at home:
On April 10, 1,336 confirmed cases and 57 deaths.
On April 26, 3,602 confirmed cases (170% increase) and 272 deaths (377% increase).

. @GovTimWalz Your extension of the stay at home order was based at that time on ongoing increases in cases and deaths has not been justified.
Maybe that approach is why it has failed.
Who are the most vulnerable?
How have they been protected?
Why isn't your plan protecting them?

. @GovTimWalz
Where have you failed?
The most vulnerable.
-65 & older or those that have underlying conditions making them susceptible to the virus.
Of the 3,602 confirmed cases as of 4/26;
-approximately 1,080 (30%) are those 65 & older and
756 (21%) in senior/long term care.

. @GovTimWalz There are approximately 172 senior/long term care facilities in Minnesota that have or have had Covid-19 cases.
That also includes, as of April 26, 212 deaths (78%) in those facilities.
State total is 272 deaths with an estimated 5 deaths (2%) younger than 65.

. @GovTimWalz
The estimated deaths of those in the most vulnerable category amount to approximately 267 (98%).
The fact that at least 78-98% of the deaths are of those in the most vulnerable group, why isn't the focus on making changes that will protect those in that group?

. @GovTimWalz As for the deaths recorded as Covid-19...the CDC protocols for reporting death during this pandemic are nothing more than unethical data manipulation which will not give you the best picture of what is going on in the state. Essentially it's fraud and promoting fear.
. @GovTimWalz Why hasn't this been addressed earlier?
Your plan has now shown it wasn't crafted well enough to protect those who are most vulnerable. Those areas should have been addressed in the initial order.
What happened?
Why weren't these people protected?
What will be done?

. @GovTimWalz Why are we closing the whole state when we know that the data shows us the problem?
There are counties that have greater problems than many others. Those counties need to be addressed differently then those not struggling with this issue.
This needs to be resolved.

. @GovTimWalz Yes, Covid-19 has differences when compared to influenza. They are also very similar.
So, are we going to shut down every time influenza kicks up its heels?
Ab Testing will only show you the extent of who had been infected. We don't test like this w/ influenza.

. @GovTimWalz Here are some interesting MDH numbers on state Mortality in 2017.
Total deaths - 44,361
Mortality rate per 100K:
Total all causes - 795
Cancer - 177
Heart Disease - 148
All Accidents - 50
-Falls - 21
-Accidental poisoning - 13
-Motor vehicle - 8
-Covid-19 - 5

. @GovTimWalz Like all solutions the discovery of what the 'actual' problem is needs to be addressed first.
What caused the failure in the sr/long term care facilities?
Has that been researched?
What can be done to resolve that problem?
Why hasn't that been addressed 3 weeks ago?

. @GovTimWalz You're in a very tough spot. We all succeed when you succeed. This issue needs to be addressed rationally. If the decision making is based on more poor modeling & fear, we ALL lose.
Grocery stores still haven't fully recovered since March 27. What happens next time?

. @GovTimWalz 'Stay At Home order in MN "SAVED LIVES and bought critical time,"says Governor.
You still don't get it. You haven't saved lives in the past 35 days. In fact, deaths have increased 8,475%!
The virus will run its course.
You need a NEW plan.

FACT:
PRIOR to your stay at home order there were 398 confirmed cases & 4 deaths.
AFTER implementation and 35 days later there has been an additional 4,738 cases & 339 new deaths.
With 87 counties in Minnesota there are 43 counties that have 10 or less cases.

. @GovTimWalz You still haven't figured this out. When you are fighting a war you do not spread out your resources. The resources must be utilized for the battle at hand. If you do not react appropriately to the data that you have you will cost the state many senior lives.
. @GovTimWalz Back to the numbers...why do your experts keep claiming it is going to get worse, yet they do not have any acceptable solutions for the battles they have to fight.
The state has tested 79,007 as of today. Yet, only 6,228 have tested positive. That is 7.9%.

. @GovTimWalz
Are these testing resources being utilized optimally or are they being wasted?
State death toll by Covid-19 is at 395 with 317 resident deaths in long-term care facilities - 80% of the state total.
Seniors (60+) account for 95% of all viral deaths.

Why aren't employees of senior/long-term care facilities and the residents being tested more often than they are?
If one person has tested positive what about others?
The 2-14 day incubation window allows an opportunity to catch those getting sick much earlier.

. @GovTimWalz
- Senior/long-term care facilities should be monitoring all employees and residents for the symptoms of this virus.
- These facilities, if they haven't had any positive cases need to test all employees and residents initially in order to establish a baseline.

The testing in Senior/long-term care facilities should continue periodically until a positive case appears. Then a testing protocol needs to be implemented. The testing protocol must include all employees and residents of the facility.

. @GovTimWalz
Senior/long-term care facilities that already have positive cases need to have a testing protocol set up immediately.
Since the seniors & those with underlying conditions are most vulnerable why aren't we 'wasting' the testing on them?
This testing will save lives.

. @GovTimWalz Three weeks after the data was showing that senior/long-term care facilities were having problems with cases/deaths a group was formed to deal with it. That group has also failed. It's now three weeks after it was formed & it has no solutions or controls to implement
. @GovTimWalz
If those of you who are in 'control' don't start doing something productive to work at eliminating or at least alleviating the senior/long-term care facility problems with this virus you will lose this war.

Inaction will prolong this virus unnecessarily. The cost will result in many unnecessary deaths.
It's time to stop talking about how bad it is and how bad it will get and start to take positive proactive steps to combat these battles.

. @GovTimWalz On May 7 you finally announced a plan to deal with the senior/assisted living facilities throughout the state that have or haven't had cases and deaths in them. This IS where the problem lies in those that die from this virus.
. @GovTimWalz You have to realize that your beginning to deal with senior/assisted living facilities is only a start. You also need to realize it will not change overnight. This plan announced on May 7 was set into place six weeks too late.
. @GovTimWalz The information regarding seniors and those with underlying health issues having problems with this virus was known back in late January 2020. It was provided by the Chinese scientists at that time.
Why didn't your 'experts' know about this?
Why didn't your 'experts' know about this?
. @GovTimWalz You need to hold your 'experts' accountable for their failures in dealing with the senior/assisted living facilities from the start. These so called 'experts' are also so arrogant as to believe that they can stop this virus by shuttering the whole state.
. @GovTimWalz Your 'experts' are wrong. All that they will accomplish is to drag out the people's pain and misery unnecessarily. It is appalling that those who should know better have failed the state of Minnesota. There is no excuse for their incompetence at this time of need.
. @GovTimWalz Again, I'll state your success is the success of Minnesota. So, it is time for you to take the leadership role by the horns and lead this state as you were elected to do. You need your 'experts' input but YOU also need to make the correct call since they have failed.
. @GovTimWalz There failures have cost the lives of approximately 400 Minnesotans. Yes, it's quite possible with your May 7 plan implemented on March 27 that this many Minnesotans would be alive today. With testing protocols they would have been better protected from this virus.
. @GovTimWalz Another failure your 'experts' reveal is their arrogance and ignorance to think that they can 'stop' this virus. This virus whether man made or natural can't be stopped. Just as influenza and other viruses can't be stopped, these viruses need to play themselves out.
. @GovTimWalz So, what needs to be accomplished in order to gain a victory in this war? -> Look at the big picture.
- The virus will need to run its course.
- Virus deaths result in those that had in almost all cases underlying conditions.
(1/2)

. @GovTimWalz
re: The big picture.
- Anyone with underlying conditions is most susceptible to this virus and they need to be protected.
- Testing will increase case count.
- Increased case counts only matters with who is getting infected.
- Ages 0-29 have shown no deaths.

. @GovTimWalz Increasing the amount of testing will increase the numbers of positive cases.
This type of testing isn't done for influenza. People with influenza get tested when they are sick.
Testing shouldn't be all about numbers. The goal should be to reduce deaths.

. @GovTimWalz How do you reduce deaths?
The public must be informed that those with underlying health conditions are most susceptible to this virus and that they could succumb from being infected with it.
This is where common sense rules need to be applied to those susceptible.

. @GovTimWalz There needs to be some common sense in process of testing that is going on in the state.
I am aware people can be asymptomatic with this virus, but people with influenza can also be contagious before their symptoms appear. Where do you draw the line?

. @GovTimWalz Back to the numbers...
-As of May 13 with 122,035 tests performed there is a positive case rate of 10.6%.
Are more tests really needed?
What happens when a person is tested negative and three weeks later shows symptoms and is then re-tested...this time positive?

. @GovTimWalz If your goal is to test everyone in the state you'll be fighting a no win battle. Just because someone tests negative this week doesn't mean they will be negative next week or month down the road.
Testing needs to be done with a purpose not with 'desired' result.

. @GovTimWalz Again, your 'experts' are failing you. They don't seem to have the common sense or the problem solving skills to be able to resolve these issues.
These 'experts' are used to operating on hypothesis and not reality. Hypothesis' are not fact and are many times wrong.

. @GovTimWalz Of the 12,917 positive cases in Minnesota 8,787 no longer require any isolation and 638 deaths. So, this state has 3,492 active cases.
Current hospitalization is 494 with 199 of those in ICU. With current active cases = 14% hospitalization rate and a 5.7% ICU rate.

. @GovTimWalz The state has stock piled PPE. Why are healthcare workers not getting the equipment they need? Wearing a mask, gown or any PPE for 12 hours places healthcare workers at greater risk.
Healthcare workers with positive Covid-19 results are 1,532 or 11.9% of the cases.

. @GovTimWalz I have also noticed over the past week or so that the MDH has played with the statistics-data that they have collected. So, the original state data I have posted throughout this thread has changed. Not by me but by the MDH.
. @GovTimWalz This is another glaring failure coming from your 'experts'. Without a standardized collection of data it is useless. This is shades of the CDC with their data manipulation.
This is unprofessional and unethical and it shouldn't go unpunished.
