Note that as progressives focus on putting Dems in office in the states, Trump and McConnell menace states with Dems in elected office. They are willing to collapse the economy to preserve the Republican Party. We have to be as ruthless as they are.

By ruthless, I don’t mean unjust or cruel: just absolutely as stalwart in our commitments and in our determination to put Dems in office at every level everywhere.

We cannot give the GOP and its electeds any benefit of any doubt. To be a member of that party is to be an enabler of Trump, McConnell, and all they have wrought.

If an elected does not want to affiliate Democratic, s/he can go Independent. But to remain in a political party with white supremacists who take no responsibility for the common good is, minimally, to be complicit in evil. cc @GovLarryHogan @MassGovernor
