has any oomfs read the inheritance cycle....we must discuss https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🐾" title="Frog face" aria-label="Emoji: Frog face">it& #39;s been years and years since i& #39;ve read it but it& #39;s a permanent part of my brain.
okay i am going to rant in this thread about it so it can be muted accordingly
so yeah. the magic system in the inheritance cycle was one of my favourites to ever exist? i haven& #39;t read a lot of epic fantasy mind you, but it just felt so in depth and well constructed. and it wasn& #39;t full of showy shit like fireballs everywhere. it made sense
the intensity of the spell saps your energy.the more complex the spell, the harder it is to cast in terms of forming the correct phrasing. because of this, there were a lot of creative solutions to problems in the book. why fireball when you can draw water out of someone& #39;s body??
though there wasn& #39;t really any asian rep in it, nasuada (the only main poc in this book) was one of my favourite charas by far. she is strong, resilient, an effective leader, and doesn& #39;t get her character ever dwindled down to & #39;murtagh& #39;s love interest& #39; despite later events
