How I spent my weekend and Mon evenings. Playing with geeky @2d_search (test version) to craft complex Boolean strings using @TheLensOrg
An update to my medium post, where I used a complex Boolean search strategy to find systematic reviews, meta-analysis & other reference rich sources as a starting point for Literature review. Using @2d_search I crafted a even more advanced strategy (1/2) https://medium.com/@aarontay/using-lens-org-c7ef5553fc27
This more advanced strategy used a) @MSFTAcademic Field of study b)MeSH c)Keywords (uncontrolled subjects) d) PubMed Publication type and e) Title to find systematic review, meta-analysis for a topic. @2d_search helped me craft such searches more easily and confidently(2/2)
@2d_search's container concept helps avoid users from getting confused by all the nested parenthesis in complex boolean searches. You can also disable parts of the search, to quickly see impact made by each component. Each block can be labelled= helps with understand-ability
Other features, includes suggest terms, undo function and ability to auto parse PubMed search strategies. You can also in theory switch between the search engines supported for same query, but this is somewhat limited (due to limited mapping?)
