1. Joe Biden insists he& #39;ll govern as a progressive. In this Politico interview with @MikeGrunwald Biden sounds like Sanders and Warren: calling for much bigger stimulus, oversight of Wall Street, climate spending, etc. Can he be trusted? https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/25/joe-biden-green-stimulus-207848">https://www.politico.com/news/2020...
2. Reasons to be skeptical of Biden include of course his own record (the Senator from MBNA might not be the one you want on side in the coming war between creditors and debtors). But also some of his advisors: Larry Summers being a prime example.
3. "What& #39;s wrong with Larry Summers?" you might ask. Well, there& #39;s this. But also on a policy level, Summers has a 3 decade record of opposing progressive policy: opposing Wall Street regulations, opposing wealth tax, opposing large scale stimulus in 2008.
4. I& #39;ll never forget this classic argument that we can& #39;t tax the rich because if we do they won& #39;t dole out charitable money & will become even more bigoted. Aside from not make sense, it elides fact Henry Ford spent lots of $$ on anti-Semitism. https://twitter.com/LHSummers/status/1188079883664154625">https://twitter.com/LHSummers...
