“I want to get as far away from the world as I possibility can...” sounds like a noble creed when proclaimed from the pulpit, but it falls short when compared to the Scriptures.

Spiritual separation is able to live godly, soberly, & righteously through Christ IN this world.

Before too many jump to conclusions that aren’t here, think about the damages that have been done to our gospel witness by those who claim Christ, & pride themselves in being “far out there” in their attitudes & philosophies.

Being far away from the world doesn’t equal being close to God. The Pharisees judged Jesus for his proximity to people in the world, & judged themselves by their distance.

Jesus said to them, “you are of your father the devil.”

The wonderful power of the gospel allows us to live among the people of the world, our lives intersecting, without it conforming us, because we’ve been transformed by God’s power.

The other method is just man-made bomb shelters so we don’t get “infected” & is powerless to save.
