Today, I want us to talk about solutions. We'll be in error if we assume that the #Covid19 pandemic is a challenge for health workers and governments to deal with. This pandemic affects all spheres of human endeavour and requires the joint effort of all and sundry to tackle it.
Before I proceed, I'll like to point out the fact that our specie is needs driven. Human beings from birth to death are trapped in the endless circle of fulfilling one need to the other. Consequently, relevance in human society is determined by the needs you are able to satisfy.
The most celebrated amongst us are those who meet our most important needs. Day after day, human needs arise and men try to meet them and by so doing, prove their relevance.
Truth is, if you're not meeting any need in your family, community or in anyone's life, you stand the risk of being tagged useless.
The #Covid19 pandemic has created needs in our society and I, today, am calling on everyone of us to rise up to the occasion and meet these needs. Let us find a solution to the myriad of human needs birthed by the pandemic.
Like I pointed out earlier, this isn't a challenge to health workers and governments only but to every member of the society. Every professional today is affected. Barbers, lawyers, teachers, bankers, photographers etc the pandemic has also caused problems in our fields.
So when I say Let's think solution, I'm not asking you to go find a cure or develop a vaccine against the virus, I'm asking you to search out the solution to the challenges this virus has created in your field of endeavour and therefore prove your relevance.
If you're a lawyer, commit your energy into finding a creative way to practice while locked down. Tailors, bakers, bankers, teachers, etc do likewise and find a way to remain relevant and provide your services while confined to the 4 walls of your houses.
I was listening to @LekeAlder the other day and he so creatively gave an example of how an events planner can plan a wedding virtually. I don't believe this lock down is a time for any professional to fold their arms and watch from the stands as health workers battle the virus
It is not time rest, it's time to sit-up. This isn't the time to relax, it is time to work harder than ever. Our professions are facing its greatest challenge and as professionals, we're just watching and hoping health workers win this battle so we can resume practice.
Secondly, the call to think solutions isn't just for professionals alone but every one. Ask yourself these questions;
1. What is the problem of my community right now?
2. What are the needs of my state and country right now?
3. What are the needs of humanity globally?
Once you outline these needs, you can go ahead and find a way of meeting these needs. It'll reflect a very shallow way of thinking if you think the only need people have right now is monetary or food related. The needs are much more than that. You only have to look deeper.
I for example, sense that people may need to hear my tips on how to go through the lock down and this is why I tasked myself with the responsibility of creating this thread and the accompanying video daily. Trying to remain relevant.
Finally, I'll like to challenge us to think SOLUTIONS going forward. Don't spend your days during this lock down unproductively. Decide to prove yourself RELEVANT.
Thanks for reading, I'll be back tomorrow with another thread on tips to get you through the lock down.
