Man I hate it when people attribute non-voting among particular groups to "apathy". Working-class people and young people don't vote because there are systemic barriers to doing so, not because they don't care. It makes a convenient scapegoat, but it's just not accurate

If they let me overhaul the voting system, here's what I'd do:
- Universal vote-by-mail
- Ranked choice voting for every race
- Redesign of ballots by usability and accessibility experts
You could also institute compulsory voting, but it might not be necessary at that point

A couple of people pointed out that I missed automatic voter registration, which would be another key part
