About 60% of all infections are in slums & shanties already. In another week to 10 days, we can expect 80% of all infections will be in dwellings & shanties of the poor. Concentration of infections over time among the poor will only increase.

Keep this central fact in mind.

In other words, the lockdowns are to save the great Indian Muddle Class by cordoning off the homes & shanties of the poor for as long as possible, regardless of the consequences to those living there.

Like it or not, we are all complicit in the choices being made.

The minorities are over represented in the Shanties. In fact they dominate the ghettoes.

So we are set for the “perfect storm.”

We can pretend not to notice. Or we can talk about the issues openly.
