Asalamu alaykum I pray you read this in good health, in February I visited baytul maqdis a spiritualy enhancing journey and one that would strike my heart forever. During my trip a few things happened that left me feeling “I have to do something for these people”. A thread
1. When you’re visiting baytal maqdis you are not allowed to be seen given any aid to the people of Palestine or you risk deportation back home.
2. The people there are the kindest and most sweetest people in the world, after all the heartache and punishment they’ve faced, they still follow the prophets sunnah with character
3. The people of Gaza are in 24/7 confinement behind a wall that nobody can see them or visit them.
4. The children of Hebron.
When visiting baytal maqdis we got the Opportunity to visit a city that needed aid, Hebron is where you’ll find masjid Khaleel the location believed to be where Ibrahim (as) is buried along with his family members.
This city looked like something out of a call of duty map and has become really run down yet the children of Hebron were so happy and it left me in awe of there strength
When visiting the children of hebron we were handing out little packages with snacks and treats, their smiles were beaming yet they were still craving more because those packages would not last longer than 3 days. When the little children were clinging to me and asking
I could not help but feel saddened as to why I couldn’t help them more. It’s a shame we live in a world where people allow this to happen and won’t let other do more about it. When reaching back home I knew it was my duty to help in even the smallest of ways.
I’ve decided to fundraiser for Gaza cancer patients this Ramadan and even the smallest of donation, retweet or message to others would help me raise as much as I possibly can. My initial target is £1000 but I’m not going to stop till the end of Ramadan. They need our help. 🤲🏽
