I like my dad. (thread)

- He worked in a farm as a kid

I could see traces of that cuz he likes gardening and we eat some of what he plants here

- He studied his arse off and got an ateneo scholarship
- He now works in IBM

He earned his spot in the middle class.

- He married a pretty privileged woman but could still handle her BS

My mum had a rich-ish mechanic grandfather who apparently got a lot of pension after he served in WWII and it made her life easier than it already was

Her family was never the religious type but here she is today our only godloving family member.

In contrast with that is my dad who grew up with parents who run a catholic chapel but grew out of that religion, being open to other beliefs.

My dad gets to live with a woman who, isn't a DDS, but still lowkey supports the administration.

Despite having conflicting religious beliefs, he still has us go to church for our mum.

Despite not supporting Duterte, he doesn't get in arguments with her.

He's just so peaceful.
