In around an hour I’ll start this afternoon’s racing picture quiz. The format will differ from previous quizzes in that all 12 pictures, each with a question, will be posted in one thread. You will have 25 minutes to post your answers where indicated at the foot of the thread...
The answers, if correct, will fit the character limit of a tweet. But try to be both precise and concise! After a quick tally I’ll reveal each answer and pose a further question with points awarded to first three correct replies.
As the narrator of cult comedy Soap said: “Confused? You will be.”
Right, so about to get underway with the quiz. If you haven’t seen it already, taken a moment to familiarise yourself with my tweaking of the format as posted above. But one thing definitely remains the same: not everything may be as it seems...
A polite reminder. Do not post answers under each individual picture question - they won’t be counted. Only post your answers together in one tweet where indicated after you’ve gone through all 12. It’s not about who answers them fastest. You all have 25 minutes from the start.
(Adopts best Gregg Wallace voice). You have five minutes left. Five minutes.
Two minutes to go. You should be posting whatever answers you have.
Need any answers now...
Any last answers before we move on to round two and I make a fresh brew?
Right. Well thank you to all those who replied with answers to Round 1. I think I could thank you all individually within the character constraints of the old Twitter. Perhaps the concept of answering and posting to a thread doesn’t work, but hey-ho...
Anyway, familiar names at the top of the leaderboard, with three points given for a correct answer to the picture questions. In the lead on 24 points is @JohnWathenBerry, second on 21pts is @Steven_Cargill and in third on 15pts is @johnoconnell6...
Round Two largely follows the original format. I’ll give the answer to each picture in turn on this thread and with it ask a second question worth 3pts, 2pt and 1pt. Anyone (and that includes any of you who didn’t send first round entries) can have a crack.
The answer to #1 is Policeman, the Prix du Jockey Club winner.
A former London policeman trained a Derby winner in England. Who was he?
And this is a fastest finger first style round. You answer each question as it comes up. Got it?
