If Chelsea want to be great again, they need to stack rugged, technically gifted ballers again. Can’t believe they needed a striker and signed ajebutter Morata. All this ajebutter-ball they are playing won’t work. Go back to Mou’s blueprint. Rugged, adaptable ballers.
Every time I dismissed those guys & underrated them, trouble.

When we got a 1-1 draw at SB in 06/07, I was like “home, we smash them”. They came & slapped us.

When Mou left and they came to Mestalla in early 07/08, I was like “easy win”. They beat us without a manager.
Wrote them off when they hired Avram Grant. These guys reached the CL final & were in the title race till like the final day or so.

Wrote them off in 2009 when they went up against Barcelona in the second leg, they bullied those guys for 90 minutes at SB.
Wrote them off against Bayern in 2005 (I think), they sent Bayern home.

Wrote them off against Ronaldinho in 2005, they sent him home.

And the ultimate...I wrote them off in the 2012 CL against EVERY team they faced in the knockouts. In fact, their final group game vs us. 3-0.
That 2004 - 2012 group had the kind of character I’ve hardly ever seen in football.

On the ball, they were great. Off the ball, great. Very adaptable to whatever opponent. Knew how to impose themselves no matter who you were. Physically dominant. Mentally tough.
Backs against the wall, you never could write them off.

No matter what form you were in when you went up against Chelsea, you knew you had to be careful. In form, out of form, those guys put you through hell.
