I don't know if this needs saying, but I was under the impression that elcaf is in some way run by nobrow but that seems not to be the case and currently I see no reason for the festival to get lumped in with the current discussion about contracts and payment, however -
I think more transparency is needed and artists should know what partnerships and economic structures they are participating in, to be able to make an informed decision.
Elcaf has been good and beneficial for me in many ways and I hope it continues to be, and that if there are issues they can be addressed in a constructive way. I appreciate that currently it's a (more than usually) precarious situation for everyone working in arts.
