the elevator at my moms office
a thread of another supernatural thing that happened to me
When I was 12-13 we lived in an apartment that didn't have any wifi, so I'd always tag along with my mom to her office so I could have wifi in the summer

Her office building was around 12-20 years old Idk it was an old building that technically had 13 floors but the 13th floor-
was abandoned and it was full of hospital beds for some reason.

I'm an impatient kid, so I always wanted to get down first to set my laptop up for the day in my own little office next to my moms desk. That day I did the same thing while she parked her car.
The building had two, elevators. A glass one to the right, and a metal one to the left.

I always took the glass elevator because I get paranoid when I'm alone in the metal one, though when I got to the building the glass elevator was already in use.
I already pressed the button to call for an elevator, and the doors to the metal ones opened.

I thought to myself, why not? Its only a few minutes to the 12th floor. So I got on the elevator by myself, and pressed the button to the 12th floor.
All was well, and I noticed that we were already at the 4th floor, I could feel the elevator going up the building

Until the lights flickered.

The elevator suddenly stopped, the numbers on the thingy dissapeared, and the lights grew dim.
I stood there for a while, wondering if this was really happening to me. Because wow! I've never been stuck in an elevator before- it was hilarious.

I tried to press the emergency button, or the bell shaped button thing but nothing came from it, I didn't even know how it works.
I stood there for a while, until i realized the elevator wasnt moving like at all, I sat on the floor and took my phone out.

But I didn't have load, I was 12 who the hell would I be texting. There was no signal for free data either, so I was starting to panic.
Just as I was going to have a mental break down on the floor of an elevator

It started to move again, and I stood up to cheer, to myself- I calmed down a bit because i /felt/ it going up again

The floor number thingy was still off but I paid it no mind, it was going up afterall
And then the doors opened to the basement.

I never go to the basement, my mom parks at the side of the building because the basement was exclusive parking area for people that bought parking space.

my first thought was, wtf?
The elevator was going up.
I felt it going up.
I was pretty sure the elevator broke down in between the 4th and 5th floor, I would have felt it going down right?

I didn't even dare stick my head out of the doors. It was eerily dark in the middle of the day it wouldn't have been that dark because I knew the entrance was near
The doors remained open until I closed it with the button.

I immediately pressed the 12th floor once more but the whole time I was alone in the elevator I was shaking

When I got to the 12th floor, my mom arrived before me. I told her what happened to me, but she only laughed.
I never rode the other elevator unless I was with someone else after that
