I feel sad that many people are so hurt by canon that they can no longer enjoy shipping or fandom.

I've never let canon interfere with my shipping. Canon will always be the source of it, but only at the points where the dynamic of the ship became apparent to me.

Harry/Draco still exists, despite That Epilogue. I was angry and still am re. many things in Deathly Hallows, but they didn't retroactively change my experience.

Stucky is still my OTP despite everything. CA:TFA and CA:WS still exist. CA:CW, IW + EG do not erase them.

I am angry about all of the latter films (and about AOU) still, for So Many Reasons, but they have not destroyed my enjoyment of Stucky, nor of fandom.

They have changed how I interact in fandom. I avoid T*ny fans + obvs anyone who thought the ending of EG was good.

But I have never and will never let canon developments interfere with my interest in and interpretation of characters. The Author is dead, and always has been.
